Castor, isn't it the clueless tactics that keeps on gifting teams that cost us nothing else, no sugar coating this managers last decade, abysmal to say the least, Sanchez could have been the MOM, but Wenger ruined it by sticking with Monreal, Flamini et al.

If we don't get Kos back soon, there probably would have been too much damage done before Jan.
Knowing Arsene he will haggle right up to 31st Jan before getting the right players.
It sad Hayden is out injured for I would play him right now in DM and CB.

We'll win our next two PL games I think.

If he is seroius about getting a CB, he needs to get one In the first week on january, not wait till 31st, because by which point we'd probably have lost a load of points throughout january due to not having a CB.

Swansea is going to be a very tough affair

Bony could potentially have a field day against per and nacho

As for united, Rooney, rvp, di Maria and falcao will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing that defense

Sanchez, Welbeck and Theo will likely do far more damage against the likes of Evans, Blackett and Shaw

We MIGHT scrape an edgy win against Swansea, but if we pair Mert and Monreal at CB against Man U, we WILL lose. Even at the Emirates. Not a doubt in my mind. An avoidable crisis we've crashed into, because our self-harming, mas.och.istic clown of a manager seems to repeatedly ignore what the rest of the sane world can see.

There is no return date for koscienly

He could be out for a very long time

They won't. Shaw has been playing well. Smalling will be available. Evans and Blackett don't look any worse than Mert, who has been shocking, or Monreal, who's a fish out of water.

Smalling will be back and if LVG is smart, they will just use the fergie formula which always does us up

If LvG didn't park the bus against City, he certainly won't do so against us.

For all of their acclaim, RvP & Falcao have done next to nothing, the former's legs have gone and the latter is still at best 2 months away from sharpness.

Rooney works hard but hasn't been a top player for 3 seasons, and Di Maria has struggled in the big games.

Can only see a win for us really.

"Can only see a win for us really."

Like last season? When we couldn't score against their crap mid-table team in 2 games. I don't know about you, but if Anderlecht can expose us TWICE in a week, I fear what Man U's frontline will do to us. This is a team that once beat us with a midfield that had O'Shea and Fabio FFS. The facking own us, because of our tactically clueless, inflexible manager.

Blackett looks very shaky and bereft of both confidence and ability. Evan hasn't played since that 5-3 defeat to Leicester, where he was atrocious if I remember correctly.

Mert & Monreal have generally been OK considering everything, I'd far rather face United's defence than ours

wishful thinking. Be honest, unless you are incredibly slow, welbeck can be shackled. And watch utd, they don't allow their full backs to bomb forward like ours do. They wont allow too much space behind them and Shaw is a very adept performer. Kept Navas very quiet all game against city.

utd have disposed of us with makeshift back fours before, wes brown, o'shea, even Silvestre have shut us out.

Tbh, Man United will just park the bus and counter attack us. Won't be shocked if they beat us.

Nope, knew Moyes would set up like he did last season.

Don't think LvG will do the same, and the likelihood is we will beat them.

people keep banging on about RvP this, Falcao that, but the fact is their only half decent attacker this season has been ADM, and he's been awful in the big games

posted on 4/11/14

I really don't believe you're THAT confident Chris. Else, that would be naive. I've seen enough of Man U against City and Chelsea to know we're in for a very tough game against them. They're playing far better than they were against Leicester.

Once you see Di Maria, RVP, Rooney and co running out against us, this excessive confidence will evaporate. We CAN beat Man U for sure, but their chances are EVERY BIT as good as ours - better even.

What damage do you think will be done by then?

You aren't competing for the title so that's a given that it will be.

Top four won't because nobody is performing well enough to put Arsenal out of the equation if they do indeed have a poor run in that time.

Just had a look at your fixtures and it does look a pretty tough run of fixtures, to be fair, but I don't you'll do so bad that you'll be out of the race for top four.

posted on 4/11/14

I'm not over-confident - I just think we'll beat them. It wouldn't be a big surprise if we didn't, that's football, but still.

The only player I really think could do us a lot of damage is Di Maria - would hate to see his ultra quick footwork in a one vs one vs Mert or Monreal, because he could fairly easily leave them for dead or win a penalty.

Aside from that threat, though, not really seeing where there danger will come from.

Poor you,

Chris, to be fair, given how you're playing I think we could say the same about Sanchez as he's the only one that has really been on form.

Can't really call it because I'm not sure what tactics we'll use and we cannot predict what player may have a blinder or not.

Hopefully it'll be a good game. The last four games against Arsenal in the league have been tragic viewing.

posted on 5/11/14

Not sure what the surprise is, its apparent to anyone outside of Arsenal that the team is not that good, has little fight(hence the maulings) and a manager who is well past his sell by date.

Wenger is hoping to sign another ancient, injured midfielder in Jan. Should do the trick.

Im sure we'll score against Man U, due to our attack being great and their defence not being the best. But we'll definitely concede, I think their defence is better than ours, and combined with that LVG will probably get the tactics right against us, where as we won't have any as usual. I can probably see them winning. My hope is that our attack will be really on form, and we can knock a few past them
