LVG claims United defence better than ours

Well Red if you think about it.... it would be a bit of a lie to announce it before the win.

JFDI I highly doubt it, unless they were wearing some specialist equipment I think that may be a little bit hazardous to the health.

As for the rest of your post if you understand the logic and still find it funny then you sound like a bit of a strange guy...

Do you usually laugh watching serious documentaries?!

Liverpool fans didn't want hodgson in the first place I certainly didn't.

Thereby we were consistent.

We backed rodgers when we finished seventh, backed him last season and back him now... Again consistent.

Man U fans, didn't back moyes but back van gaal even though he is doing much worse when all is said and done.

That is inconsistent.. and no, much as you hope, you've caught no-one out.

Hallelujah he's getting it.

Then how could he announce the defence has done as well as chelsea when they haven't?

It would be akin to someone lying and saying they've won the lottery and then bragging about earning £5m a year on average.

He is doing much worse?

Not so sure about that.... he has us close to where we finished the previous season, almost everyone expects him to finish above where we did the previous season....

Moyes never once got close (maybe opening day of the season?) Moyes never got close to looking like he could match the finish from the previous season either...

Not to mention under Moyes we seemed to get worse and worse whereas under LVG we have seen some improvement...

Oh my god.... you must be the thickest person on this forum I swear.

He never claimed the Leicester game didn't exist or didn't happen.

He simply pointed out that without that statistical outlier the defence has been better than another good defence...

In the same way the lottery winner would specify their earnings are £100,000 a year excluding the great big lottery win...

What incredibly simple part of this incredibly simple statement did you have trouble with this time?

If I found a serious documentary manipulating the facts to suit it's own agenda I would turn it off, probably whilst chuckling yes.

Can you hear yourself?

Is that the best you can come up with?!

Plenty of United fans didn't want Moyes either. Plenty of Liverpool fans were happy with Hodgson.

Oh dear. Yet again, you are all over the place.

And that's without you even trying to respond to the fact that there are good reasons why United fans would be happy to trust LVG for a longer period than Moyes.

You're making a mess of this, lad.

Its a simple case of looking at the statistics without a statistical outlier!

I think redinthehead joined this thread on a wind up, got caught up in a debate and now is wondering how it's ended up that he's the one being laughed at.

The guy is clueless!

Oh dear Winston. You've not grasped it have you? You really haven't.

Results, Winston, results.

Moyes had better results, yet you back van gaal who has worse results, all things considered investment in the team, no European football and who you've played, those really are poor results.

And no, plenty of liverpool fans were not happy with hodgson. You can't just make stuff up.

Fact, Man U fans are backing van gaal, while they had turned on Moyes despite him having better results.

Those are the facts. Care to refute them?

You should only do this in credible instances, this is not one.

Oh dear indeed. And results are 10 games is the only basis for whether fans are happy to trust a manager, is it?

Really?

Plenty of Liverpool fans were happy with Hodgson.

Making stuff up?

That's what you were doing. United fans backed Moyes yet you insist he was hounded out.

You're all over the place and I'm taking great delight in highlighting your nonsense.

What a mess you've made.

Umm for the sake of an example of statistical outliers not really.....

You do understand that an example doesn't necessarily need to be centred on an actual true to life event to prove a point right?

TBH Winston Redinthehead goes around acting clueless in every debate (at least everytime I see him)

I think its some kind of trick on his part, he manages to act so stupid that he can never be proven wrong as he refuses to accept even the simplest of things....

If you laughed at him for saying 2+2=5 he would just keep telling you he was right and you were wrong.

At the very least I think we have to admire the commitment!

Considering how bad the record looks with it.... and how much better the record looks without it...

The figures disagree with you.

Do you live in a pink fairy castle?

You hound Moyes like a pack of rabid dogs.

Redinthehead - you can consider this confirmation of me making you look a fool.

Check the link. A 10 second Google search, and I prove you wrong.

Oh deary me.

Any Liverpool fan who went to the OT fixture last season will know that there was no hounding of Moyes.

posted on 7/11/14

Hey dumb and dumber when will you answer a question straight?

Why do you have less points, lower league position and have scored less goals than under Moyes despite spending 150m?

Why? Why? Why?

But is the act of deducting that game credible?

Lets say BR deducts the last 20 years of success United earned and claimed Liverpool were by far the most successful team in England, would you claim that was credible because it suited his argument?

If its a statistical outlier....

Then yeah.

...................................................................

If we had won all our trophies (or a great majority of them) in a single year you might have a point here....

LVG isn't saying look how great our defence is bar 1/4 of our season....

He is saying look at our record outside of one game which is a statistical outlier.

Or to put it in terms of your example....

If United had won say 40 trophies in the past 21 years but 20 of those trophies had come in one year, then that year would certainly be a statistical outlier...

Any United fan saying we average 2 trophies a year could quite easily have an opposition fan (perfectly justifiably say) its more like one trophy a year and one really good year where you won 20 trophies.

With it being such a statistical outlier it would be common sense to put it in those terms.

posted on 7/11/14

So that poll disproves my one, does it?

You were proven wrong.

Funny thing is, that's just one small point in a whole massive mess you've created.

There was no 'turning on Moyes'.

There are good reasons why United fans have greater faith in LVG long term than they did with Moyes.

Liverpool fans are no different in their backing of managers than United are. Some are keen to stick by them, some aren't. Pretending otherwise is moronic.

But you want to ignore those points because it doesn't suit your attempted position up on a high ground.

Except now you look a bit of a prat, to be honest.
