not one of bernie"s better ideas , in all fairness BE obviously deeply loves F1 and i say that in all seriousness and i believe came up with the idea of double points to enhance the spectacle and liven up the championship for the fans -
----------- however you cannot escape the fact it is nothing more than a gimmick that erodes a little bit of the credibility of engineering excellence that F1 represents --

Exactly what I was saying in the double points debate.
BE introduced the double points for the benefit of one person. BE.

Bernie-Approved Rules:
1) Any team faster than Ferrari and Red Bull must pay €1000000 to each team as compensation.
2) Every driver who wins a Grand Prix must hand over all of their Championship points for that race to the highest placed German. If the winner is German, he gets all of the 2nd placed driver's points.
3) Any circuit willing to charge fans less than €750 for tickets will be taken off the calendar.
4) The more sponsorship money you bring us, the more of your idiotic crashes we'll write off as "racing incidents"

his responsibility to his shareholders
i think it could have been managed better. I appreciate the idea, and the need for the idea. i.e, we dont want the championship deciding in canada!
There should be a reward for qualifying, and a design rule that makes teams, organically have to decide between a quick quali car, or quick racer, or indeed a balance of 2.
Lets not forget, that if in previous years, mark webber was allowed to race the finger, then titles wouldnt have been decided to early, and the rule probably wouldnt exist.
im all for dominance. it creates legends, but dominance with compeitition. Red Bull could have walked round tracks quicker than there competitors
Responsility to shareholders, including himself. And to his family. Those daughters of his need enough money to keep them in rule lifestyle they are now accustomed to.

Good old Father Horan, he knew how work the crowd. A real pro.............
If I was 84,with BE's millions in the bank - I wouldn't be setting alarm clocks & flying in my private jet to business meetings to make more cash that I would never need/be able to spend. No chance - I'd be lying on a beach, getting massaged, sipping a pina colada or going fishing, driving my fave sports car or bike - anything but work & stress. Stuff that !
Tam - id be the same as u. Its probably the reason we are jus ordinary folk tho lol. People like bernie are workaholics, an odd breed

Perhaps you missed the key phrase "If I was 84,with BE's millions in the bank" - not talking about my present circumstances. For all you know,I may work 16 hour days - 7 days a week striving to be the next Bill Gates
