I had resigned myself to losing as soon as it got to penalties in Moscow. Just had a feeling
Although i also felt we would win the shootout in Munich just because it was the first chance we had had all game to win it
Chucking away a good lead at 3pt lane under Avram.
Losing the play off against Boro.
Losing FA Cup match aagaint Bristol City and having Cambridge Utd fans have that as one of their T-Shirts cos Cambridge beat them in the same FA Cup season.
Losing to Sunderland at home last season really hurt.
Barnsley in cup.
And my 2 all time worst one moments in cup competitions. ......The 94 cup final and losing to Sunderland in 85 Milk Cup.
That Robinho free kick is a good mention. Completely forgotten about it but it killed me at the time.
The 5-1 defeat in the Nou Camp, and it's not even close. Watching that as a 8 y/o after the glorious 10 minute spurt at Stamford Bridge, up to this point as a Chelsea fan in my world we'd only been getting bigger and better every day.......... and then that happened. While it ironically cemented my passion for the game and Chelsea, my god did it hurt. Largely attribute losing my innocence to that night
After Wilkins got the tin tac.
Just read the article properly
One obscure painful moment for me, probably is for a few people once they remember it, was the first 30 seconds of Torres's debut. Forget who kicked off now but the ball immediately dropped to Torres about 25 yards away from goal unchallenged and his body language was shaping to shoot. I fully expected that ball to glade into the top corner thus beginning a wonderful six years watching my favorite player at the time playing for my club - and the shoot resembled a rugby kick. Just drained all the Torres anticipation out of me immediately cos you knew it wasn't his day in that moment.
steve guppy . we should of won the league that year.
1-0 vs Birmingham in Ancelotti's second season. That was a ridiculous game to lose. 3-5 vs Arsenal as well, we have such a good record against them at SB bar that one nightmare performance.
torres is that birmingham game where we had about 100 corners?
the 3-5 was just a freak result. it could of easily been 5-3.
Way back in the old second division days me & my mate went to an evening kick off a cup game (can't remember who we were playing)
We'd travelled down from the Midlands (we were in the RAF at the time)
The game went into extra time & we lost, - we then had a huge rush to get back to Euston only to miss the last train
Ended up getting a mail train at about 01:30am which took an age to get us home, via places i'd never heard of
Then we had to walk another 3 miles to get back to base
Painful moments eh?
How about the ropy cup win under maestro Benitez?
Losing all but 1 of the competitions we entered in the 12-13 season?
Coming second in every competition with Avram, bless him !
I think Benny did a great job for us considering the situation!
Losing 1-0 to Wolves under Carlo on a freezing January evening thanks to an insipid performance and a Bosingwa own goal from a Stephen Hunt corner. Can that really be topped?
Chelsea going out of UEFA Champions League, losing to Manchester City last season in FA Cup and losing to Manchester United in UEFA Champions League semifinal are some of the low points of me being a Chelsea fan!
Big Phil being found out as unsuited to the rigours of the EPL.
The realisation that AVB was useless!
I think it was mid october Sheva was in his first season, we were playing I'm not sure Either a team Big Sam were managing or even wigan and Sheva was getting bounced off the ball, the game was up it was clear he was a yard of pace short and not the threat he once had been in his AC days .
Mine was sitting in with the Arsenal fans at the bridge when Kanu scored that infamous hat trick at the bridge.
Went mad when Chelsea scored both goals (I think it was Wise and Super Dan). Got given a few looks and a fair bit of verbal received. Well, we know what happened next and when he scored the winner it felt like the whole away end were on top of me.
Talking about sitting with rival fans, the last game against Utd i was at old trafford in the SAF stand, when they scored in the last minute of LVG time me and my son were the only ones left sitting out of what felt like the whole stand standing up, and in fact when we scored earlier i began to let out an almighty cheer and was smothered by my son !
Loosing to the 5 puds in the league cup last time out!
The 3-1 defeat to a 10 man Monaco in the CL semi's
yeah that was a mind fck, you new Raneri was toast after that !
