Wenger is still manager.
We don't expect a signing.
We just hope we might get a signing and if we do we hope it will be a decent player.
And any thought of more than one signing...
We have all our injured players back in January
Not sure we will get a CB as Monreal has been "ok" there.
But I think we will get some kind of "DM", probably on loan though. Arteta injuries have started to accumulate faster than before and I think even Wenger now realised Flamini is not up to the job.
Won't be surprised if it's just a last minute loan signing like Ledesma. Kallstrom all over again. He'd say he was looking for a short term option by getting a player to cover until wilshere is back. Spout some crap about how you can't always buy when someone is injured.
But I also think he might buy a big name at DM or CB to take some pressure off him. If not then the board may try force something through. But judging by our usual January exploits it's doesn't leave much eveidence to be happy about.
Only signing an injured Kim Kallstrom last Jan was absolutely hilarious. Basically mocking the fans.
Surely we won't see something similar this time around?
Wenger prefers the loan moves in jan.
If Arteta, Flamini, kosc, per, gibbs, chambers and nacho are all fit in jan then we are not signing anyone
You just know they'll all be fit, then we won't sign anyone, or just a shîtty loan signing. Then as soon as we hit feb 1st we'll have another massive injury crisis.
Diaby will be like a new signing
Diaby like a new signing since 2006
Pretty sure he's point blank said publicly we will buy/sign in Jan. Normally it's "Umm yes we may, if the right player's available" when we get the last minute dances.
I expect both a CB and DM will be signed. The only question mark is over quality. We won't make two big name signings in Jan, I don't think but one big name and a stop gap signing to get through to summer is a definite possibility I think
Standard midfield loan signing. That's all.
It would be a vast improvement if we actually didn't sign an injured player, this time.
Pretty sure we'll bring in some CB cover but I'm not expecting anyone that exciting, most players available in JAn are because their club doesn't want them.
Wenger will most likely go for a player that can play both DM and CB.
I think midfield loan signing. Then possibly a permanent CB signing seeing as we are lacking in numbers in defence, as apposed to midfield.
Could be a good opportunity to get khedira cheap. It's rare you can get a player of that quality for a cheap price. Would be a risk waiting until summer when he's free. But whether he'd want to come to us is another matter. But it's a good opportunity.

Oh yes it's not like Wenger to say these things
Strong rumours that Khedira has already agreed to join Bayern.
Cabaye could be available on loan (and would be a good signing) if Wenger finally decide to use his good relationship with PSG owner.
As I said before, Monreal performances have killed any hope of signing a CB IMO.
People wont want to hear this, but I strongly suspect, and not to wind people up, that he will have a few injured players back (Ozil, Debuchy, walcott) and say that we dont need new players, we have enough quality already...
that is my honest belief, and I wil lbe happy to be wrong
I just dont see him buying anyone in january.
Yeah we may have some players back by then but we will also have at least 6-7 other players injured
We still only have two recognised centre backs!!
Even with a fully fit squad we're still at least one CB and DM short. I'd like to say "no excuses for Wenger", but we all know the same old lines and excuses will roll out.
Walcott got injured early last Jan and got no one in for him. Why is he going to do it any different this year ?
people can laugh, but anyone know what Kallstrom is up to?
he could be better than nothing, which i suspect will be the case
I'd love us to re-sign Kallstrom.
Mainly for the banter and more fuel to the anti-Wenger campaign.

I guess in Wenger's mind, we had the Ox and Gnabry to cover Walcott injury

We may not sign anyone!
