Top 4 is almost a certainty anyway. Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are completely cack.
I think these next two games are two of our biggest so far this season.
We can put a lot of day light between ourselves and Liverpool with two wins. As well as any psychological effect on either side from getting those two wins.
Considering United's fixtures over the last month, they have done what they had to do, while others around them have dropped points. It has been a good month for United, no doubt there.
City have picked up form during the same period, despite losing Silva and Kompany to injuries. Worried about Aguero now though.
I guess we should be flattered that you see Spurs as rivals. It looks as though you're gelling now whereas we still seem to keep chopping and changing the lineups and formations in the hope something will stick. Reckon we'll be a good 10-14 points behind you come May.
It makes it even better when you think about the following starting 11:
--------------------------------GK
-------Rafael--------Jones-------Evans--------Shaw
-----------------------Blind--------Anderson
----------Di Maria------------------------------J. Lingard
-----------------Falcao-------------------Rooney
That's an 11 we could make up just from injured players and in the case of Falcao, seriously seriously unfit and nowhere near match fit.

Yeah not his biggest fan as you all know and i was rather clutching at straws a bit there, agreed.
In saying that, he did still cost £20m and he's still on about 50,000 a week so still counts.
We're the injury kings. That above 11 could beat alot of the teams in the PL.
In the same vain, even after their loss, if Chelsea don't win the title this season, I would see that as a real failure for Jose, given the struggles of their rivals.
---------------
City have 4 more points this season than they had at the same stage last season. I don't think it's a case of Chelsea's rivals struggling in regards to their own form. I think it's rather a case of Chelsea's rivals struggling to keep up with the pace that Chelsea have set.
An Arsenal injury 11 vs a United injury 11 would be pretty good.
We'd win, obviously.
Ledley - I noticed that Chadli, who seems a good goal threat for you was recently dropped, although not sure why. Lamela on the otherhand, who shows flashes of brilliance, but just doesn't cut it for me seems to play regularly (has his 'ribena' goal made him undroppable??!!) I thought Lennon was a proven performer but you but doesn't seem to be first choice either? I think Poch is really unsure of who his strongest 11 is, seems to have too many attacking midfielders/wingers that he changes them most weeks, really has a big job on his hands.

Yea........they'd dominate play, miss loads of chances and our physio (who came on for the tiring Falcao) would pop up with a late winner.
Just their luck that Rooney has made the injury 11 as well.

I don't think Chelsea have been blisteringly brilliant this season, they've done a good job and deserve to be in front. But regardless of points total (where we not one point worse off that last season a few games ago?), City aren't quite on it yet (and who knows how bad the Aguero injury will affect them), and us, Arsenal, Liverpool haven't performed great either.
Chelsea are chugging away nicely whilst various factors are affecting the other teams (with Arsenal having the fewest excuses for me), and given the record of Jose, it's a great situation to try and take advantage of in terms of winning the title. Of course nothing is won in December, but if Chelsea don't end up with the title, it will feel like they have thrown it away (like when we threw it away to give City their first EPL title)

That's it. Just seems to chop and change it too often. Chadli was injured recently though however, but Lamela has shown very little IMO. Spends forever on the ball instead of releasing it quicker, it's a mess this season. Hopefully we use it to weed out the garbage and gel as a team, I've written it off as a transitional year.

The season when, in your words, United "threw it away to give City their first EPL title", City had a better start to that season than Chelsea have had this season.
Yet you refer to that season as one in which United threw it away.
My point being, if Chelsea don't win the title, then it's silly to say that they would've thrown it away. There's simply far too much football still left to be played.
(As an aside, it would be interesting to read posts on 606 (bbc's 606 then) that were written in December 2011 in regards to how people felt at that time after City's start to that season.)
A lot rests on this Aguero injury for me. A couple of weeks may make no difference but a couple of months would.
Ripley - I didn't mean to compare the actual seasons, more the feeling of throwing it away.
We were comfortably ahead with a handful of games to go and threw it away.
I have said that we are a long way from the end of the season, but even this early on, given the current circumstances of all the main teams, I really do think that if Chelsea don't win the title, they will reflect and think, how where we not champions.
I don't know how long Aguero is out for but the signs don't look good, we may have a decent run but still think we will drop a fair number of points, and Arsenal don't actually look like a team of winners.
Of course a small part of me still thinks that we can do it, but put it this way, if you put us or City in Chelsea's position, we would be thinking that we should really be taking the title, regardless of the title isn't won in December etc.
I am taking into account the strength of the squads, and what I think the teams are capable of - Chelsea are a settled side, we are still developing, City may have lost their talisman for a considerable time. Chelsea may have lost, but they may have received a better gift in Aguero's injury.

Ah, got you. In that respect, I see your point and agree with you.
Chelsea are the pace setters, there is no denying that.
Mourinho's MK2 Chelsea have certainly been ruthless in the manner in which they have gone about accumulating their results.
Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and Everton have been nothing short of calamity.
The front three runners for the title will be Chelsea, City and United come what May.
I'll go as far as to say United will be at least 5 Clear of the forth place team come the end of the Christmas run in.
I would also add that I think Chelsea could actually improve on how they are playing - they have ground out a fair few wins rather than play breath-taking football, so they will get better also. In many ways I would be interested to see what Jose would say if the title didn't end up at Chelsea - an experienced manager and squad who knows how to win titles, makes a good start to the league, a decent lead over rivals who aren't at their best, but couldn't sustain it to win the title - who would Jose blame in those circumstances??!!
Sometimes you get seasons where you accept the best team over the season has won, others you think, we should have won that title. I think 4 league losses stick out in my mind - the ones to Leeds, Blackburn, Arsenal when we have a good lead over them and they beat us at OT 1-0 (Overmarrs?) and the one to City I have mentioned.

Hope you're right.
CL money next season doubles from £30 to £60m. Missing out would be an absolute disaster.
We just need to concentrate on ourselves and getting players back from injury.
