De Gea
Rafael(hopefully) Smalling Rojo Young
Carrick
Fellaini Herrera
Mata
Rooney Falcao
Though I expect RVP will start for one of the front 3
--------------------De Gea
---Valencia-Smalling-Rojo-Young
-------------------Carrick
------------Herrera----Fellaini
---------------------Mata
--------------Wilson---Rooney
Possibly if we want to be a bit more solid out wide we could:
De Gea
Rafael* Smalling Evans Rojo
Januzaj Fellaini Carrick/Herrera Young
Rooney
Falcao/RVP
Don't care as long as Falcao and Rafael start.
Saints' lack of midfielders could be the key to tomorrow's game, only really Wanyama available. No Schneiderlin, Cork or Ward-Prowse plus Alderweireld and possibly Tadic.
I'm off to the game too, looking forward to it.
Does Falcao deserve to start? Didn't look anywhere near fit enough when he came on. Bit of a catch 22, isn't starting because he lacks match practise, can only get match practise by playing games.
Can we risk starting him?

Fitness is quite easy to get from reserves. Maybe he should try that. I honestly do not get the Falcao craze. His youtube videos are awesome no doubt, but realities are he looks slow, lacking sharpness and tbh average. Considering we are looking at what happens to talented players when they age and the injuries take their toll in RvP, I cannot imagine why there is an excitement about him. But... Galacticos.

So if they dont start you wont care ?
o............k.
If Falcao is fit he has to start for me, needs a good 60 minutes before the Liverpool game next week.
De Gea
Valencia Smalling Rojo Young
Carrick Fellaini
Herrera
Rooney Falcao
I don't think we can afford to start RvP given this is a very tough fixture and him playing is pretty much the same as playing with 10 men.
Bit harsh on RVP. Falcao has done nothing to suggest he'll be any better. RVP got a hattrick at Saints a couple of seasons back so will have good memories.
Falcao is a very good player but he really doesn't deserve to start this game over RVP yet.
Wilson probably deserves a start over RVP and Falcao.
You can't get fitness from reserve games in the same way you can from high intensity first team games.
RvP has scored 2 in his last 8 games, all of which he's started. Even if you forget about that poor stat when you watch him he just looked uninterested, no runs, no link up play, nothing. He just strolls round thinking he's bleedin Berbatov.

Well it is a much better option than the 30 minutes he gets when we are most likely leading and he has to defend more than attack. RvP may not deserve starts (I can debate this though especially watching his uptick in work rate that produced by anyone else will be hailed as magnificent) but Falcao does not deserve starts, not on production, fitness, reputation. He is a back up at the moment and rightly so. So unless he is looking like Ronaldo in training, there is nothing really to be done.
Absolutely no chance of RVP not starting this fixture.
I think Rafael may play though. He's been training for over a week now and I think Valencia is a disaster waiting to happen at right back personally. Luckily he's not been up against much in Hull n Stoke.
Personally I'd go
DDG
Rafael/Valencia Smalling Rojo Young
Herrera Fellaini Carrick
Mata
Rooney Falcao*
*Only if fit and only for an hour or so to get him sharper for the game against the scousers. Otherwise start with RVP and bring Falcao on later for half an hour
You should win relativley comfortable. Their midfiled isn't up to much without their injured players.
Only danger for you if they come out with something to prove against a big team. Because against arsenal and city they looked to timid and respectul. So against you they might do the opposite.
I'd probably go for a 2-0 United win.
I'm taking nothing for granted and I know that van Gaal has a lot of respect for koeman's achievements this season.

Me thinks so too...sounds right with what there is to choose from.
RVP will start. Not even up for discussion.
This will most likely be the team IMO.
DDG
Valencia Smalling Rojo Young
Carrick
Fellaini Herrera
Mata
RVP Rooney
Agree with Robb. The only possible change could be Rafael at right back if Van Gaal thinks he's fit enough.
Rest of team picks itself (for this game)
