Ivan

I like Brand - he's a breath of fresh air and is every bit as intelligent or more than your average politician.

I'd rather he officially spoke for people as an elected voice rather than assuming we want him to do so.

But then by saying that you're basically saying people shouldn't be activists, that only those who stand for election are entitled to expose their views and fight for what they believe in.

Politics shouldn't just be for the political classes.

There aint a party would touch him pointy ! Could you imagine the whistle blowing he could do from the inside !

It devalues Question Time having someone as simple as Russell Brand on**

Its got nothing to with him not being a politician, its to do with him being stupid and serving no purpose as far as the show goes, he was completely out of his depth and resorted to shouting over people in a one-dimensional way, he is a hypocrite who is wealthy and lives a comfortable life

There was talk at one point of him standing for London Mayor under a Greens banner but I don't know if there was ever any substance behind that rumour.

So only the poor are allowed to fight for the poor?

How many poor people do you think are in the House of Commons (and we won't even mention the House of Lords)?

They'll all be wealthy people. So under your rules there would be nobody in the HoC fighting for the poor.

Having said that, your logic might already have been applied without us knowing it...

no but his excuse was pi$$ poor

How is he not a part pointy - East end lad from working class background - just cos he's made a few bucks and enjoyed the lifestyle a tad doesn't mean he can't have a say about something he obviously feels passionate about

Farage just tries to appeal to those of lower IQ's base instinct and blame everything on immigrants.
I'm fed of hearing people saying the Eastern Europeans only come here for the benefits and then in the next breath say they're taking up all the jobs. Which is it to be?
Fear breeds facism - remember that.

Saying all that i still think Brand is a knôbwallet.

Ivan, why doesn't he stand then?

What's this self styled revolutionary afraid of?

posted on 12/12/14

Ivan stop trying to 'brand' me just because we have a difference of opinion

He's neither a comedian or a campaigner, he's a fortuitous reformed drug addict who talks too much

posted on 12/12/14

pointy - we'll agree to disagree

I like him as a pirate with madey-up words

I've no idea mate.

Maybe he doesn't want to do it? Maybe he wants to still have his career? Maybe he feels he can do more good as an activist than from sitting in the HoC as an independent member?

I like the fact he's an activist. We need more of them.
