but on current form rvp should be starting,

With the individual talent we have in our squad now the best individuals wont make the best 11.
I think for example a 3 of carrick herrera and fellaini compliments mata more as a 10. So this means only one of rvp falcao or rooney can start and not all 3.
With a mf 2 say herrera blind then mata becomes a luxury

This is our best and most balanced side. Shame we will never see it.
My fear is that LVG will have some unwarranted loyalty for players like Young/Valencia/Fellaini due to the upturn in fortunes. WE need players like Blind, ADM, Shaw and Rafael back to add some tempo and improve the general play i feel.
Daley Blind would be in my first 11. Really impressed with him before the injury.
I don't actually think Blind is needed in this team whilst Carrick is playing.
He'll be an excellent squad player for us, but I wouldn't have him in our starting XI
Arab, I'm sure if Giggs had his way that side would be fielded.
Carrick is better than Blind.
He's been our best player since he's come back into the team.
Why can't they both play?
We'd have a much better defence if they did too.
my logic is simple
1) best performances with lvg has been when we played a diamond
2)Back 5 picks itsel
3)Carricks calming influence is what we were missing early in the season, so he has to start
4)It has to be rooney and another striker and on current form that man is rvp
5)Herrera and di maria are great at what they do and the final pick has to be the player that compliments the already choosen one's .
So someone who contributes defensively thus ruling out mata, and I hate fellani.

I'd like to see that personally. Di Maria in the AM position / Number 10 / free role would be terrifying in my opinion. He'd get space to hurt teams.

Carrick does well reading the game but we still need someone to engage the opposition ahead of him. Fellani has been doing this different level of success.
Carrick's role is almost like a "sweeper midfielder"
Unwarranted loyalty. Ashley Young has played solid in a fairly new position bar pre-season. It would not be unwarranted for him to keep his place.
Mata would not start for me. A good player surrounded by pace but,limited without that.

Say we could have kept that 11 on pitch most of season, I reckon we'd have gone really close to, if not win the title.
Luck hasn't been with us this year though sadly with injuries.
Carrick and Blind starting together is too defensive and a waste. Play one of them, they are two top defensive midfielders so it's nice we have depth in that area.
Di Maria isn't a number 10.
We've played our best football with the diamond formation, have Mata play behind Rooney and RVP. Herrera, Carrick and Di Maria in the midfield.
