Thought Shearer got 260 Goals?
Shearer did it over 559 games which is a long time to maintain that average.
Shame he never had the bottle to come to Man United, they'd have won even more with him there.
He played for 2 teams who really had no other options for goalscorers so he would bang in the majority of the goals for his teams.
------
This is clearly bs. Sutton at Blackburn, and a host of strikers (Asprilla, Ferdinand, Beardsley, Ferguson?)
Rooney has a much better game to goal ratio than Henry. Rooney has played far more games, and you only get games if you score goals, so the more games you get the better you are, hence Rooney better than Henry.
Shearer was still playing in the prem until his mid 30s. Henry chipped at 29.

some of them where good but not great, if you look at Man U or Arsenal and the players that played beside Henry, even Rooney and Cole were far greater and shared the goals which obviously reduced the amount they scored overall......
Shame he never had the bottle to come to Man United,
------------------------
what? bottle?
he wanted to play for his boyhood club, most fans respect that, no surprise a Man Utd fan doesn't. The football world don't begin and end in Manchester.
Shearer played for the likes of Blackburn and Southampton who were always going to be competing for the title every season, thrashing teams week in week out, so of course he was going to get goals. Rooney has never really had that luxury in his career.

And when he left Southampton and went to....Blackburn?
Man United were the top team then, and were still when he left Blackburn, no one with ambition goes to Newcastle in their prime when the top team in the land are after you. Go to your boyhood club a bit later on.
One medal.
Went to Blackburn and won the league ...
I agree. It is the same with fans of unambitious clubs. What is the point in supporting them? Get on over to the champ21ns and support us and pick up a medal or 20. There must be absolutely no joy or satisfaction in supporting a team that doesn't win the league every other year.
Perhaps he valued something else above playing for Man Utd and Alex Ferguson!
to say he lacked bottle because he did not want to play there is nonsense and childish
Shearer is nowhere near the forward Henry was. Measuring just the goals is like comparing the top speed of a Lotus Elise S Club Racer (145mph) and a 2005 Vauxhall Astra (145mph).
You're simply missing the point spectacularly.
Shearer was class. I think given he played until his mid 30's and suffered some bad injuries also affects his goal ratio.
No he wasn't as good as Henry. But he was still an incredible striker. You don't need to look at his goal stats to know that.
I can agree that Shearer was an incredibly good player. An undoubted Premier League great. But Henry sits at the same table as the likes of Ronaldo De Lima, Muller and Puskas. He sits at the end of the table, granted, but there's genuine space between Henry and those below him.

You're confusing fans of clubs with players, who are more often than not employees of a club.
You play to win, you want success, if Shearer supported Gillingham as a boy would he have gone there in his 20s?
But Henry sits at the same table as the likes of Ronaldo De Lima,
No he doesn't, nobody does
Well different people would argue against that. I put him in the category of the greatest strikers ever, that's all.
It pains me to say but shearer was a great striker. People forget how lethal he was at Southampton and Blackburn.
Shearer was a brilliant CF as good a CF as England have had
