Liverpool to review player recruitment

The patently obvious point about Balo, which everyone is alive to, is that for the previous two seasons, we were mesmerised by a tornado of a player who ran his heart out from start to finish in every game for our club, bringing in other players in the process. As fans, we were spoiled. We took it for granted. He's gone now, never coming back, and the fact of the matter is we, the fans, haven't adjusted. It's all very well blaming Balo, incredibly poor return for his price, the same applies to the new signings, we are all looking for someone to blame. (Just watching Jordan tear the Chelsea defence apart - fantastic!). For Gods sake, get behind the team and manager.

I'm not putting him up as a scapegoat, I'm giving my opinion and that is that he's lazy. He creates when the balls not played to him and instead of actually running around on the football pitch, he jogs!

Look at last season when we didn't have Sturridge or Suarez, the other played the lone striker role perfectly well even though they where better together.

I've not mentioned his attitude or his behaviour, I've simply said that in my opinion he's lazy. So jump down off you're soap box!

Are we playing right now??

When we play I support but when I'm on an Internet forum discussing football I'll give my opinion. You're right about Suarez giving his all and running his heart out but Sturridge did the same thing. I'm not questioning his talent or ability, I'm simply saying he could display more effort!

And don't get me started on Jordan Ibe, who ever came up with the idea of letting him go on loan and then paying £20m for Markovic should have his testicles hanging from the radio city tower!

I've been impressed with Markovic his last couple of shifts

he's just a kid - got to give him time

I love Ibe but he has no brain - just rushes toward goal regardless if it's the right thing to do. You could say he's the anti-Markovic

but they're both kids with a lot of long term potential

There are two major reasons why we have unraveled

1) We didn't plan for Suarez departure well enough, and thus our transfer business was a bit of a shambles (arguably all have ability as players, but seemingly no planning went into how they joined together to form a team).

2) Rodgers has made a bit of a hash of the season, sticking too long with a system that wasn't working, making too many rotations seemingly for rotations sake and failing to get the best out of a squad he has built.

The transfer committee has to take the blame for the first one, and it's impossible for us to know who is most to blame out of the individuals on it.

Rodgers only has himself to blame for the second one.

I'll have that but not give him time but spend £20m on another youngster isn't right. It just sends out the wrong message to lads that have come through our youth system!

we may have to get used to it

the new league/tv deal doubled+ transfer values for sought after players

a £25mil top player now costs £50mil+

An £8-9mil top prospect kid is now £20mil

new world order of prem finance

Yet when we sell the price goes down quicker than a prozzie's knickers!

Agree KLS, same with Manquillo/Wisdom.

Too many players that weren't desperately needed upset the team spirit.

We needed to improve the squad, but Ibe and Wisdom would have done that as neither were part of it to any real degree last season.

It's easy with hindsight though.

I know!

Wisdom would be in with a shout of being first choice CB the way we're going at the minute!

We sacked scouts last month.

They should employ me to do the scouting.

I think many of our transfers will work out weirdly enough. Moreno will be a good footballer of that I'm sure. Can too has massive potential and seemingly the attitude to maximise it. Markovic has talent for sure (I would have kept Ibe myself - direct thoughtless shots may do us good!).

Trouble is we can't wait that long.

The transfer system needs looking at for sure though. I'd have rather just offered Sanchez £250k per week and got Can, Cabaye, Moreno and Bony and then relied on some youth.

Done. I know that's a little FM but to loan in Manquillo and then loan out Wisdom is odd. Buying players like Ilori and Alberto then loaning them out is odd to me as well. Loaning out Reina and then dropping Mig is odd.

Liverpool have been signing nearly men for 20 years.

They either have great potential or have a decent season with a lesser team and we snap them up.

You have to buy quality.

Look at Fabregas and Sanchez - you know what you're buying with players like that.

Now, I know Liverpool were after Sanchez but other than him, there werent many top players being touted.
