Why change the formation again? 3 at back with Sakho in for Lovren and Moreno taking Markovic (improving) spot.
I will cry if Allen is back in the team. Terrible player.

We're playing arsenal who out of the two teams (man Utd & Bournemouth) have the better attack with pace. Changing the formation would be a good tactical move.
I would play Markovic for his pace against Mertesacker
I do not like 3 at the back. I think it lets teams come at us and we can't defend. If Bournemouth had strikers on Wednesday we would of conceded 3/4 goals we were shocking.
Toure and Sakho as pairing CB?!
Is that not a penalty/red car in the making?
Hendo normally always plays well vs Arsenal so I'd like to see him start, we can rest him the match after possibly. Markovic has probably earnt himself a chance too after the night, up to him to to take it now. Coutinho has been poor for a while and should be benched.
Neo
I would have Hendo over Gerrard all day long. In fact I would have Can over Gerrard all day long but Rodgers has no balls to drop him
I'd keep it the same with three at the back as we've created chances so as others have said Moreno in for Markovic and Sakho in for Lovren.

Mignolet has to come back in, he has bad games but he is also capable of good games now and then whereas Jones is just crap every game.
might aswell stick with 3 at the back, would also give markovic another go at wing back, he got stuck into the defensive side of that position, and jones has to be dropped
--------------------Mignolet
---------Kolo-------Skrtel-------Sakho
Hendo------------------------------------Markovic
-----------------------Lucas
------------Can-----------------Gerrard
----------------------Lallana
----------------------Sterling
Tranquil
I agree about Jones. Migs has been poor but Jones was an absolute joke against Utd. It looked like he was diving the wrong way on purpose. Someone should check his bank account. Hopeless keeper.

This formation is working for us. The issue against United was individual mistakes with Allen, Lovren and Jones being main culprits. Take them out of the team.
It has allowed our 3 best attacking fit players to combine in Sterling, Lallana and Coutinho. I would be tempted to drop Gerrard for Can though. 3 games in a week is too much for him.
I would play largely the same team that got the result in Midweek. If Rodgers tweaks the formation he should still use the same players mainly.
Toure/Sakho
Toure/Skrtel
Skrtel/Sakho
which combination is best if we go two at the back? I'd rather maintain the status quo myself.
-----------------Mignolet
Manquillo-Toure-Sakho-Moreno
----------Gerrard---Lucas
Henderson--Coutinho--Lallana
------------------Sterling
We would be crazy to move Sterling given that we have created about 5 times as many chances in the last two games than the previous 5 games combined.
We are at home, we need to play at pace and get after them. We know we will concede against them, we have to try and dominate the game so we have more goal chances than they do.
I would bring Mig back as he is better than Jones even if he isn't the long term answer.
Mig
Toure
Skrtel
Sakho
Manquillo
Lucas
Gerrard
Moreno
Markovic
Henderson
Sterling
I would move Hendo back in field. Harsh on Lallana but he slows the play down too much for my liking for this game. Arsenal struggle when you attack them quickly in the transition.
Manquillo has the pace to combat Welbeck/Sanchez when they move wide left. I think Moreno can cause their right side problems and although Markovic did well at LWB against Bournemouth I would prefer him higher up the pitch and roaming behind Sterling so we can break at pace.
Mignolet
Manquillo
Toure
Skrtel
Moreno
Lucas
Henderson
Gerrard
Sterling
Borini
Markovic
You will be able to get us in mf as we have loads of injuries in that department.
I just hope we play the counter attacking game against you. If Ox is fit, we will have sanchez, Welbeck, Ox and potentially Walcott on the bench so a lot of pace.
That's if Wenger adopts that tactic
The "wisdom" dished out on this forum is that Gerrard and Lucas should not be in the same midfield 2.
