BlackS...the longest period outside the top Division that I can recall. There was a barren era during the 1990's that was spent in the second tier. 5 or 6 years I believe,
and before then you would have to go back to the 1940's/50's.

Cheers souf.....as a long time Leicester fan, do you view us as a constant yo-yo club, or one of the top flight regular stalwarts who have lost their way in recent years?

A lot of our best history is well before my time, I've always known Leicester as a club struggling between top flight and the championship, but I'm aware that for many fans we were a very good prem side for a long time, competing with the likes of Spurs, West Ham etc.

Gosh, that's a good question Blacky. The answer would spread into reams. I'm one of the few who keeps harping on about the past (much of it just to give an indication of how we fared in those days) but at the same time seeing a City side now who can compete with just about all the Premier League opposition though appearing to be, let's say, struggling in some departments. Throughout the 1960's and into the mid-1970's there were some marvellous City teams, able to stand their own ground and battle with the rest on more or less an equal footing. There were many monumental FA Cup runs during that time.

Well, that's how I saw it.

Thanks Downsouf, I enjoy hearing from the fans who were around in those times, I'm fascinated with the history of the club and love to hear perspectives on some of the City greats such as Keith Weller and Lineker of course.

I think I'll do a thread on it

Seems like the general consensus is to stick for now. Although im still just about a stick, I can't think of many other teams who'd allow a winless run like this to continue without the manager getting the tin-tack
