Why is it Spurs never get a mention

Because most of our players are average at best. The notion they are capable of finishing top 4 is laughable, and you are drunk with optimism after a home victory against Burnley.

You should know better

ArseC

Thank you for your wonderful insight into THFC. Now fecccck of you plank.

You are usually somewhat sensible...well some of the time.

Talk of top 4 and a return is glory is embarrassing.

It's directly your fault sandy there is simply no other plausible solution

The less they talk about us the better IMO

Because you won't finish top 4. I'm not sure why you're always so bothered by what the media think and always have to create "why..." articles. Why do you need their validation so much?

Sheriff still crying that his world class side was completely outclassed by a genuinely appalling Liverpool team

posted on 22/12/14

It's just another silly paranoid "no one likes us" article. Nevermind that I've rarely seen more ji.zzing over a team (except Liverpool) than the Spurs side under 'Arry that bottled a 12-point lead over Arsenal.

At least, we've not lost 12-0 to them in our last 3 meetings. The same appalling side destroyed you 3-0 at WHL, and you were still lucky Sterling and Balotelli didn't have their shooting boots.

A Spurs side that amongst other things, regularly beat you and put Woolich in their place.

I thought you guys would have liked to keep it low profile for a change, instead of your players coming out and saying we are going to do this and that.

Really? I could have sworn you lost all 3 of your games to us last season and only won 1 of your last 7 - including 2 5-2 hammerings. Don't let me stop your fantasies though.

Sherif talking aload of rubbish as usual awful poster

Spurs can finish top 4. At the start of the season I said it would be Arsenal and Spurs in the top 4. United are getting results atm though so they are gonna be difficult to catch but I definitely think it's between the 3 of us. Any team that finishes above one of those 3 will be 4th at least.

posted on 22/12/14

Spurs will finish 6th. The current top 3, Arsenal and Liverpool should finish above them for me.

Why do you even care?

You are always banging on about how much you dislike the CL and the obsession with getting top four - which apparently isn't an achievement because you don't win anything, this point particularly aimed at Arsenal - and yet you start whinging that Spurs aren't being talked up for top four by the media.

If you make comments like that it shows just how little you, and other posters making similar comments, know about image and brand awareness and how this affects the earnings of the club.

How much do you think Spurs could generate in sponsorship deals. As much as United, Liverpool. I doubt it and it is because of the media coverage they get.

The BBC are the worst culprits for over playing the importance of certain teams, Liverpool being one of them. In the Carling cup games last week, we beat a Prem team, Liverpool beat a championship side. The evidence of Liverpool's coverage was in two or three articles on the BBC, the Spurs victory was barely visible.

Over the past week the BBC have generated articles about Rogers and his expectation of top 4, Savage and his analysis of the spending of Liverpool and the success or otherwise of that spending. It matters not that the spending article was negative, simply that Liverpool are plastered all over the BBC.

I picked up two or three newspapers when I went to Sainsburys today. Arsenal/Liverpool plastered all over two or three pages, and draw between two underperforming sides. I had to search really hard in the Daily Star to find the Spurs write up, and it appeared 6 or 8 pages in in the sports section, after most other games had been reported.

It is enormously important to any brand, never mind football clubs, to obtain the most coverage they can get in all media.

And there does seem to be a dearth of articles and coverage about Spurs, whilst there is over-indulgence of other teams, Li verpool, United, Chelsea, but perhaps not so much Arsenal. No idea why that should be!

You really think Sandy knows or cares about that?

CL is overrated. I would take a League Cup over CL qualification every single time.

If we win a trophy this year, I will probably even say nice things about MP.

I'm quite happy that we're escaping the top 4 talk. In fact, I've stated in a previous thread.....sod top 4!.

I just want to see Spurs playing well, picking up points and showing good progress for the remainder of the season. If that takes us into the top 4 this season then great, but if not I won't be too concerned.

To be honest, if we did somehow qualify for the top 4 with this squad we would not progress from the group stages and I our league position would suffer (see Liverpool as an example). I would prefer that we build a strong team/squad this season and next, so that we're equipped for greater challenges in 2016-17.

I'll be quite happy for us to not get a mention all season.

Much better for the players to just go about their business and not get wrapped up in that nonsense.

I said at the start of the season the squad is good, it just wasn't being used properly. There are signs Poch is sorting it out, slowly, and we have a healthy squad in terms of numbers and fitness.
