I may be wrong about Wabbara lads.
I am sure that i read somewhere that his booking last week meant that he would miss the Coventry game and that Keegan is one booking away from missing the Peterborough match.
I have just read a piece by Wabbara on the OS and he is talking as though he expects to be in the side on Boxing Day.
Does anyone know whether Reece is suspended?

Good work Hound. Sheffield United might dispute the "biggest club in League 1" tag, but they certainly have seen great times since Jimmy Hill took them up and the support (provided that they can play at their proper home) is still faithful, rather like Portsmouth's.

Pressley also drew attention to the strength of experience in our side and for Dickov to suggest that we would exceed ambitions if we got in the play-offs suggests a problem with his memory. There were statements from the Board and Dickov himself both following relegation before any sign of the takeover and then again in August that we would be fighting for an instant return to the Championship.

Urged as I am to make comparisons with other clubs and other managers, it was interesting to learn that Swindon had a transfer embargo up until the last few days of the close season with even less time than us for an organised "pre-season". Look how they have progressed despite that.

Making sensible comments about the likely result is difficult. I'd be surprised if they don't put in a good attacking effort, but whether they score early, at all, or enough to win will depend on their composure in front of goal. I don't believe in there being evil spirits out there, but I do think he should put some belief in McKay and start him.

Hi don, i did say arguably the biggestclub in L1 and that paid off didn't it.
Hopefully it will get up the noses of some Blunts fans i know quite well.

I see that recently you have been championing the case for McKay to get a start.
In our current situation where the recognised front men are failing to put the ball in the net i do agree that there is a case for giving the boy a chance and if it doesn't look like working out then we could always bring on a sub in his place.
I am a believer in "if he is good enough then he is old enough" and he does appear to have the instinctive knack and ability that all good finishers have.
I would have no issue if he is given a chance.
The only trouble is that if it didn't come off i think that there would be plenty of people on the managers back for not playing one of the regular players up front.

My friend reminded me today of something that Strachan said when he was manager at Celtic.
He said "When i leave for work in the morning i turn left out of my drive and head for the training ground.
The thing is, half of the fans tell me that i should have turned right".
It kind of sums up a football managers day for me.

Hound, I thought I posted on the Swindon thread but it has not shown up.

I apologise about Lanza as I thought I read you saying something on one thread about you and he sitting close to each other and therefore thought you did know each other.

First of all, from the Left Coast of the USA, every best wish for a Great Christmas, and, hopefully, a pushing for promotion in the New Year.
I really enjoy all your comments on this site, even if I do not agree with them. I do not comment much as it is difficult when all I see is the high - and low - lights.
I must admit, I cannot understand the home situation - I know the wonderful supporters who travel are so passionate, they get behind the team.
At the moment we seem to be playing some good football, but can't put in the net.
This has been a problem for ages, so, PD, give our young striker a start!
As someone slightly older than NY, I remember the old Christmas Day and Boxing Day games. I know NY remembers the Clough/Gregg to and fro (to put it mildly!). Todays players do not know what it was like!
As a supporter for over 60 years, I've seen many managers. I've had little faith in PD, but I go along with "Who could have done better in the circumstances?"
I will admit that if I was the Board, I'd have fired him after last season's disaster.
If we beat Coventry and Peterborough, may be he should stay to the end of the season.

Whatever all your opinions are, we are all Rovers fans. I left the UK in 1974 and many of my American friends cannot believe I have this passion for the Rovers.
They just do not understand.

After Fuzzy went AWOL, I want to thank NY and now Hound for providing a great lead in to our matches,

To all of us crazies - even Xon (I well remember my two weeks in Malta in 1966 with the RAFVR) - I feel close to you all.

HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS
