I agree that results for some time now have been very disappointing, but would getting rid of Pearce just be us repeating the same mistakes over and over again.
We have to give a manager some time don't we? We keep changing styles and players and burning through Fawaz's money at too rapid a pace for my taste. If we can get a gaffer in with some real quality credentials, then yes, but we can't just get rid of a Forest legend without a proper plan can we?
He is just fulfilling his potential as a manager. The best he will ever achieve is mid table mediocrity but I would only get rid of him if he is alienating a good squad, if not some stability is needed. That said he has got a good squad set up to under achieve so I wouldn't blame them if they wanted out and if that is the case he should be sacked immediately provided someone better is willing to take charge. Fawaz might now be paying for his trigger happiness when he first took charge.
I am a big fan of Pearce, but it is getting to a point of questioning his management now, which is worrying.
I think we should all just calm down a little....and wait to hear what the Rev has to say!
Thanks for writing this thread - saved me the bother. Pearce the player was and will always be a legend. Sadly as a manager I don't think (and never did) he would do very well. I too like to back whoever is in the Forest hot seat but I think a change is necessary and inevitable. He just isn't getting anywhere close to squeezing the maximum of the assembled talent. There is no established pattern of play (albeit I make this assersion on player highlights). Despite some injuries he has no clue on the best XI and the back four changes more frequently than my socks. Don't want to be negative but we have to face reality.
Hire, back, sack, repeat

Sad but true and the consequence of buying your way to success. That's not our invention - probably Jack Walker at Blackburn. Now the club has a backer with big bucks it was inevitable when managers don't come with a guarantee of success.
So who would you get in then?
They'd need to not mind being given much time to turn things around before fans start getting in their back, probably even less than Pearce. Plus don't get an awful lot of chance to shape their own squad.
Don't know really. Obviously its difficult. Someone with a track record of success.

I agree with that Caniggia. It is also worth pointing out that half the squad wasn't signed by Pearce, but he has little option in playing some of them, especially with key players out.
I would hope that despite the sanctions, we can offload a couple of players allowing us to bring someone new in.
^That isn't an excuse by the way, just an observation.
I never expected us to do well against Boro. They are flying high and well...we're just awful.
Not sure about a new manager, but lose at home to Brum and it really would not surprise me if he went. Especially as Derby just beat them 4-0 at home.
Not sure Pearce can turn this around to be honest. Would love him to get a number 2, I'd even take Nigel with him, although why would he leave Sheffield United.
At least it's Christmas!!
It's one thing to kick right wingers into the stands and another to manage a football team, it's horses for courses and Pearce is out of his depth. With FFP now in force it will only get worse for him. The FFP embargo is totally the fault of your owner.
You say who would replace him, well there is one chap who does have a proven track record in managing on a shoe string budget and would get the best out of your team,
NLN anyone?
Just read your comment Morinchile, you're thinking on the right lines but No1 not No 2.
He needs to be given at least a full season. I still say two, but I can see why some might disagree. Anybody who expected promotion straight after last year's disaster is a clown. This is a squad/team/club that needed a complete rebuild. There are now questions over whether Pearce is the man to do that, but it'll take more than six months to answer them.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: your madcap owner is your problem.
Another big loss v your local rivals in 3 weeks time and he'll probably pull the trigger again.
As was said earlier: hire, back, fire, repeat
Don't matter what you say, you're an idiot

Rev, happy christmas to you mate A much richer and more considered response from yourself, as I would expect. I did not come on hear to wum.
Good luck.
Baz is right, your OWNER is the problem. He's an absolute clown and you lot love him... It is baffling!
You ask any Derby fan and they will all say the same thing. We've been there, we've had owners who have took us backwards and if it wernt for our Nigel we'd be playing HOOFball in L1 ! The guy deserves enormous credit for keeping us above water, he did the job he was set out to do. Now we are at a far higher level....
Your owner without a shadow of a doubt, interferes with team affairs. Pearce because he is a legend at your club and one of YOU guys, is putting up with it, for now. There were rumblings of a fall out at the beginning

There were rumblings of a fall out at the beginning of the season of a fall out, which he quickly brushed aside, lying through his teeth!
And now he's dragged you further under this transfer embargo. What can your legend of a manager do now in January, his hands are tied You need stability in order to succeed, it takes time. You dont like it but you only need to look at your dear neighbours, ourselves! The proof is right there. Lose tomorrow and your clown of an owner will striker again, he'll be gone I think. If not, you have us in a couple of weeks and it could well be after that game, again π
Rev, in the meantime, I'd say wait and see what happens when a few players come back from injury. I wouldn't be surprised to see a major difference with Reid and Hobbs fit. I know that isn't a long term solution, but maybe with them fit we can get some confidence back in the current under performers.
This was a bad move from Daddy's boy buying Forest. Wealthy businessmen in the gulf states operate on a different level to their same ilk in the UK. He will not like the loss of face he is suffering with Forest. It's all bling with him, hence his video with EMT where he showed you all of his cars. You need to be a lot wealthier to do a Man City now and start in the Prem. He won't know what to do now, everything he has done has failed and now he can't chuck cash it. He is a fish out of of water.
Keep telling yourself that it's not his fault if it makes you feel better.
