It was bad today. But we should have got at least a draw with united and poss beaten arsenal. Today we deserved absolutely nothing but got a win. Dint know how.
cheer up Jimmy saan its xmas my friend
but yeah it was fackin dire
Can't disagree with that at all jimmy, although I did think that Sakho looked good.
Burnley wanted it more today, which disappointed me the most. They out fought us and out played us.
A very lucky win, but in the context of recent weeks this is a welcome change. We haven't got the points we should have vs the mancs and Arsenal imo. Today was the polar opposite.
Winning ugly
We've got to mix it up with the attractive football we're capable of playing.
3 points on the board.
;but for me that was the most dire performance I've seen in living memory'
Then I fail to see where you've been all season, Jimmy.
I bet when Jones got injured Mignolet was halfway through a piece of leftover turkey leg and went, 'Aw, wha'?'
Still, three points. Time we did start winning ugly as SM67 says because God knows nothing else has worked.
Made me laugh when Dyche said his team had their pocket picked. Not one shot on target for the home team is abysmal.
Can't see how Burnley deserved to win Jimmy. They didn't even get a shot on target ffs. Just because we were crap doesn't mean the opposition deserved to win, especially when they were even worse.
Dont care really jimmy...
the 3 points is the most important thing for us...and it keeps us in touch ...just!
Mancs v spurs gives us a chance to close the gap next game too....
I'll take the win and three points thank you. We deserved a point or even to beat United. Same as Arsenal. We have also been very very unlucky against a few other teams. They say it evens out over a season hopefully this is the beginning.
In other news, LAE.
If we'd played against a team that isn't awful yesterday we'd have been hammered.
I expect the same turgid performance against Swansea to be honest.

I wouldn't be surprised if we were four points behind fourth by Monday. Spurs play United, Southampton play Chelsea and West Ham and Arsenal play each other.
Good point TOOR sadly we can't seem to string results together so I don't see us capitalising.

We have been stringing results together. One loss is the only anomoly in the last nine games I believe.
One loss in 9 yes but a lot of drawn games within that sequence and with realistic top 4 ambitions draws aren't much better points-wise than losses. We have to start turning those draws into wins if we are serious about challenging.
We are slowly improving in defence but still need to cut out the silly errors. Defend well and you can win games where your attacking players are poor like yesterday.
9 from 9 was the target from this run of fixtures up until the fa cup tie. First one down, two to go.
I hate to say this but I agree with you Jimmy.
I'm in Scotland with the family. My dad and cousins who like me had season tickets for 25 years at Liverpool and we all agreed that was as bad as woys days. No cohesion, no leaders, no passion.
I hate to say it but the biggest problem is Gerrard. He kicked the ball about 3 times yesterday. He doesn't lead anymore and looks like he has given up . We need a leader and someone to dictate the game.
Skrtel is hopeless really hopeless. Watch his game he never marks anyone. Every time a team has scored or gone close this season look at his positioning, he is nowhere near anyone. He never communicates. Carra said that Skrtel needs a leader alongside him as he's a yes man.
Henderson looks like he's not interested. He spent yesterday at right back and every time he got the ball he made backwards passes.
We need to inject some life into the team. 2 big names needed ASAP. A striker and a defender who can communicate and lead from the back.
Gerrard is an issue for me as well, the game just passes him by these days and he is so wasteful in possession with his hollywood passes just gifting the ball back to the opposition.
Its also his inability to press in midfield, lucas may not be super quick however he can still run nonstop and press for the team.
What happened to rodgers managing gerrard game time? Seems to just start him every game, give him his rest and bring him on late in games
Is Rodgers still the Messiah?...He is and always has been out of his depth at Liverpool
i'll take a sloppy win over a well played lose or draw any day. I felt horrible after the arsenal game and Liverpool were by far the better team. some times the bottom teams are much harder to play flowing football against.
Gerrard is fine for games we are gonna control possession but the problem is that the likes of Burnley we'd expect to do that but don't at the moment. Personally I'd leave him out for Monday and revert back to a 4-3-3 with Lucas, Can and Henderson in the middle and Coutinho, Balotelli and Sterling ahead of them. Swansea play a quick closing down game and if we play the way we did against Burnley with loads of possession between what turned into five defenders we will get punished and badly. We need to match their intensity, in midfield.
