A bit of frost/snow on the pitch should never stop a game going ahead.
I was going to this game. I assumed when I logged on this morning that it would be off. I was surprised to see it was on and, after a while, utter disbelief crept in.
I had a lucky break. I decided not to go as I had a premonition that this would happen. Once bitten, twice shy.
I also thought that even if it does go ahead it wouldn't make for a good spectacle with players gingerly running on a bobbly surface.
It is a complete and utter disgrace as you say Mr E. One doesn't have to be that good at meterology to know that snow and ice on the ground with temperatures scarcely climbing above 1 degree would make the surface unplayable / poor.
I think that Accrington decided to guess. They guessed that the pitch would thaw in time. Well, our club coach and the supporters cars / coaches do not run on 'guess' fuel.
Given the trials and tribulations of Accrington football club in their history you would have thought that they would have behaved better.
Absolute disgrace ,i feel so sorry for all those travelling fans , not to mention our team and officials who have been sold down the river by someone not in the real world . Any match 4-5 hours prior to kick off that is 50/50 should be called off . On a more positive note i suspect it may have done us a favour with players out and the possibility of further injuries .It sets us up nicely for the Shrewsbury game .Did anyone go home the other afternoon disapointed with a 2-0 scoreline ,i felt upfront we still lack that cutting edge ,oh for a quality striker ,im sorry but Blythe isnt the answer . I hear jimmy is bringing in a few new players from FC Twente lets hope they are forwards !!
