I guess if you want one position if say a striker.
But a left back, centre back and a centre mid wouldn't go amiss either!!
#1- centre back
#2- Striker
#3- LB
Considering that Schlupp and Mahrez will soon be departing for the African Cup of Nations, a winger is a high priority.
Really, we need:
A centre back, if the others are unable to step up.
A left back, at least on loan for a month or two. It's time that Konchesky was considered backup only and Schlupp given a proper run in that position when he returns.
At least one winger.
a striker.
For me its a central defender, winger/attacking mid and left back.
I think a striker is important, but ultimately, even if we got Danny Ings, he wouldn't get the chances created for him here that he does at Burnley.
Our lack of goals, in part, comes about because of a real lack of creativity in the team. Mahrez is the only reliable creative outlet we have and he leaves in Jan. Without him yesterday we wouldn't have found the back of the net - away from home our goal scoring record is really poor.
We need to follow what Burnley are doing and create chances from midfield. George Boyd has been a wonderful signing for them and if we could get either a pacey winger or creative attacking mid that could create openings for Ulloa who could be our Danny Ings. He showed early in the season that 9 times out of 10 he can hit the back of the net.
Another striker would defo help, but not without some more creativity in the squad....
