He didnt lose it, he never had them. 10 years is a long time.

I've always wondered why a player with such a great scoring record was never given a chance in his natural forward position.

The fact that the facking injury prone postman gets more game time than podolski just sums up this whole situation.

With pod going to inter we are going to be left short on the striker front once again. Campbell look average and don't get me started on saNOGoals.

This is another reason I want Wenger gone in the summer.

He played in his best position that is the left wing.

Awful article btw.

And he is always productive on the left wing position.

It's just a crazy decision by wenger and the club

You overestimate Wenger. The success with managing players was largely down to David Dein and it was when Dein left that the problems started. Wenger by himself is a good manager and no more, but Wenger with Dein behind him pulling the strings with the players is a formidable combination.

"Gilberto left for free shortly"

No he didn't. Or give me 1 million, if it's your definition of free.

Another day, another stupid article.

Podolski had chances in the 1st team and didnt take them simple as. Not fit enough to play a full match either. Have you all such short memories? Some god awful performances at times, so bad I remember a few half time substitutions.

He is a fantastic player to bring off the bench in certain situations (over 90% of his goals have come from the bench), but he's not good enough to start. He wants to start: therefore there is a problem. Why are you still debating this?

Our fans get oddly emotive about Podolski. What exactly is "disgusting" about the treatment of him? He's getting paid 100 grand a week to play the odd few minutes of football and post selfies on Instagram. I wouldn't mind that life. If anything the club are being kind if they let him go rather than keeping him purely as backup.

The guy is competing directly for a place with Alexis. I know who I'd be giving the game time to. Podolski is indeed a quality finisher but the rest of his contribution isn't enough and he doesn't really fit in to the team anywhere. The irony is that we will create more chances without him in the team but be less likely to finish them.

Bloody hell I agree.

Pod was given many chances to play as striker, lacked the technique to play there.

he didnt make it at bayern and didnt really make it here.

just wasnt good enough.

Pod probably played about 5 games up front how is that giving him a chance? Most of the time he played up front was when the rest of the team were injured or in the crappy LC.

Podolski fans are a weird bunch. Even weirder are the ones who keep comparing him to Sanogo. Podolski is not a striker. Try to actually the games in which he's played in that position for us, and you will see how bad he is there. He doesn't hold up the ball, his link up play is poor, he's nothing special in the air, and worst of all, he just doesn't move.

Shipping out an out of favour player who is on 100 grand a week is a good idea.
