He was doing a great job, considering who he has to work for. I feel so sad for him - nicest bloke in football but used and abused like a ten dollar hood rat.
As for his replacement?
Keith Downing. Did a fine job prior to Mel's disastrous appointment and knows the club inside out.
Continuity is needed.
Don't think West Brom will ever allow their manager enough time to implement their ideas and achieve a long term goal.
Big mistake when they got rid of Steve Clarke.

He should never have got the job in the first place, he was rubbish enough in the Championship.
Same with Warnock, TPTB at Palace and Baggies were rectifying a massive error, if United did that sooner last season they might still have CL footy.

Hahahahaha
Ignorance is bliss
There's a reason why a poor championship team were the next team to give him a shot
Would be a good position for Wenger to be honest.

I just seen, still crazy to think they got a draw against us after we outplayed them for most of the game. Anyway not supprrised with January transfer window coming.
f on a house before the foundations were secure has been made.
Former Wales international Robbie Savage:
"Manchester United are level on points with West Brom. Don't get me wrong, I think Alan Irvine is doing a great job there, but United have spent £150m on new players and that is unacceptable. When are we going to start asking serious questions of Louis van Gaal in press conferences because I haven't heard it yet."

one got sacked for doing a great job at West brom.and man utd are 19 points ahead 9 games later.
BTW its funny preople keep saying we spent £150m when most of the new signings barely played inn our winning run.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30620617
Man utd finished 5th in 2014 ahead of Tottenham on GD if only we won our last 2 away games we would have finished 4th this year lol.
Just relised man city done an 11/12 season and won this year on goal difference by just 1 goal.
Irvine should never have been appointed in the first place.
As to "nice". Who gives a sardine if he is "nice"?? WTF has that got to do with it? My neighbour is "nice". Should she get the job next?
Pulis isn't nice. But he's a much better gaffer.
I don't get why sack the manager after some good performances statistically. West brom are 4 points behind Everton which shows you if they had held on against QPR instead of losing they would be 1 point behind 12th spot.

So many ill-informed fans from other clubs who no nothing about the damage Clarke did with Roy's team. Clueless.

Ok...
Results seemed good and you were playing quite well.
west brom under Clarke were in freefall like Pardew newcastle at end of last season.
Clarke took over a fantastically drilled set of players, and slowly but surely stamped his own authority which culminated in us dropping like a stone towards relegation.
Once we didn't have lukaku he was clueless, no plan B, and thus why no other side of note has taken him on since
