Theo. His pace makes teams sit deeper against us and is always a threat, even when he's off form.
Koscielny - most
Wilshere least
Valid points raised OP, but my vote goes to Arteta. It has always been hard work defending his short and mostly sideways passes against fellow commenters on these mean JA streets. Possession has always been our core strength, without which we've struggled even against less glamorous sides.
All attacking and defensive football is built on midfield possession.
Cazorla has really excelled these past few weeks but before that he wasn't having as much of an impact. There were some games where we were severely lacking in attacking ideas (Southampton springs to mind) where Ozil definitely was missed.
Agree on Jack though. There's a very good player there and he was having a decent season, but we still haven't found a way to make the team play better with him in it.
And I think we missed Debuchy a great deal. We could have rotated and dealt with koscielny's issues and not had to overplay Chambers and have all sorts of players out of position if he hadn't been out. The guy has probably been our most solid and consistent defender and I've been very impressed with him.
Özil - We miss his movement and his ability to receive the ball under pressure and keep it moving forward fast.
I can't decide between Arteta, Ozil and Walcott. The former two because of how they enable us to retain possession. Our ball retention has been shocking lately. Walcott for his pace, which frightens teams which in turn means that they drop deep, giving us more space and making pressing less effective.
I'll say this, an upgrade on Arteta must be a priority. Someone who can cover ground effortlessly, as well as control a game like him.
At one point during the West Ham siege, we only had Cazorla and Sanchez as our non-defensive talent on the pitch. We could barely string two passes out of our own box, let alone launch a counter attack. We had to park the bus because we didn't have a midfielder who could keep possession.
Only a fool thinks we haven't missed Ozil's quality in the middle of the field
Koscielny by a long way - then Debuchy - now Arteta, he may not be a very good DM but he knits our game together and we have no decent replacement for him.
Probably Koscielny the most because he holds our defence together. Walcott is our lethal weapon and Debuchy left us exposed at RB because none of his back ups are anywhere near him. Arteta and Giroud as well because their back ups are not Arsenal quality. Half of our outfield team
I hate to say this, but we didn't even skip a beat when Wenger briefly yanked Shezza out of the starting XI.
I'm a big fan of Shezza's, but Damian will be running him very close by next season.

Ridiculous statement. Shez was amazing vs West Ham. He may have his occasional brain fart but he's a very decent goalkeeper.
Remember his goal save vs Villa and the performance vs Liverpool?
Koscielny holds our back 4 together
Arteta is our only half decent holding midfielder
Ozil is vital for orchestrating attacks in the final third and helping us keep hold of the ball

Not sure what you're on about tbh. All I'm saying is that we have a very promising understudy to our No 1 keeper.
Kos and Debuchy. With Walcott just behind.
It's funny when you think about how much individual injuries really hamper us and to be honest most of the players missing are average anyway. As first 11 when fully fit is still missing a top GK, CB, DM and ST - the entire spine lacks quality.
Kos by a country mile followed by Debuchy then Özil and then Theo.
Whilst Theo's pace has been missed IMO Alexis has pretty much done the work for two players. Özil on the other hand despite his critics gives us good balance in the team and more importantly keeps the ball flowing
Theo
Kos
Arteta
Very hard to separate those three.
We also missed Giroud, Debuchy, Ramsey even Rosicky a great deal
Fully agree we don't miss wilshere at all. One day he will be great and he is very talented but at the moment we are better without him.
you cant say we've missed ramsey then say that we havent missed jack, ramsey has been awful
