Surely if the rumours on the article below are true, we'd have sacked Adebayor by now and would be looking?
Rumour 1
He's lied to the club on more than one occasion to get away. If this is true, there's grounds to terminate his contract
Rumour 2
He's had the fallout with Kane, and Poch doesn't want to play him again. No point keeping him on the payroll if we agent going to play him and have grounds to sack him.
The fact he hasn't had his contract terminated would suggest that there is some bôllocks being spread
I would imagine we will have a zero net spend again in this window, any incomings will be funded by outgoings as we have no spare places in the squad also.
I doubt Levy will spend big money on a striker in the January window as it usually represents poor value for money, unless he can pick somebody up from a club desperate for money at a knock down price.
We are more likely to take 1 or 2 on loan perhaps, business will depend on who we can move on.
Who knows, maybe we will be busy and see a lot of movement but one thing for sure is that with a new stadium to pay for Levy will be as frugal as ever with transfers.
Berahino IMO is a disaster waiting to happen. I hope we stay well clear of this overrated kid and by all reports is also a cancer around the WBA dressing room.
Bony would be a good buy but with City and Chelsea sniffing now it's unlikely. Striker in the summer looks on the cards.

The fact Brenda Rodgers is reported as interested should sound alarm bells, after all, his track record is positively awful, way worse than even our own albatross Baldini...

What do you think the realistic chances are of us signing a striker in January?
--------
About the same as Maf's chances of shágging Miss World.

Or anything with a pulse

Whatever we think of Berahino and Brenda's miss percentage, he's a better striker than Balotelli, and Soldado and Ade for that matter. It would help improve their squad, just like it would ours.

Berahino hasn't scored for 10 games
You're not going to score that many coming on the end for 10-20 minutes though.
Berahino for 20 million is a joke, rather go for Benteke
He's started 18 Premiership games out of 19 btw
Don't know if that is true Doos? He hasn't started 4 of the last 5 PL games.

Isn't that how Levy got Ade in the 1st place
I'm not convinced Spurtle. He has not been exactly prolific and haven't most of his goals come against so called weaker sides? I also question his mentality a little, he came up through the ranks at WBA and at 21 is reportedly on £2.5m already and yet he cant wait to get out? Not exactly "One of our own" material? Just saying.

I'm not overly convinced either Short but I would rather someone in than nobody, and a couple of things going for him are youth, and his partnership with Kane which he has been successful in the U-21's.
It does not even have to be a striker from the PL, I mean this is what we brought this new guy from Saints in for right, to help us find the right signings.
