Wenger won't sign a striker, silly
I know but why are we weakening our strike force?
It's imposible to explain anything wenger does. He'll probably end up just buying a young french right winger.
Selling podolski is absolutely crazy
I got the arshavin and to a certain degree gervinho sale but this just makes no sence
How could even Christiano Ronaldo prevent the disaster tonight at our back?
nothing would surprise me from our clueless manager.
which means we will be left with 2 genuine strikers.

Who? Our squad doesn't have any genuine strikers just a couple of very good wing forwards plus several donkeys too gash to call strikers.

You missing the point....You can have Messi and Ronaldo upfront when you cant defend with your supposed best defense.
Well for one, Podolski is not a striker, certainly one his own. Furthermore, he just doesn't do enough when he's on the pitch. He spends most of the time just wandering around. You might argue that he can hit a football really hard, but is that really worth 100 grand per week? I don't think so.
I have to say though, that it is clear that Wenger does not trust certain members of the squad, the issue is that there are too many players that come under this category.

I for one, would welcome a striker who did nothing other than loiter inside the box and cause havoc. Memories of Adebayor, RvP and even Giroud picking the ball up and taking attacking throw-ins, always do my head in.
I'd rather Pod on the left and Welbeck up front than Welbeck on the left and Giroud up front that Wenger has been doing. Although hes had a few good games while fresh when coming back from injury, Giroud slows down our attacks too much with his hold up play and allows the defence to get back. Pod does get back and defend more than some give him credit for and his height is helpful in defending set pieces when he is normally back.
But I expect him to be the next Vermaelen - sold and not replaced.

Except he doesn't do that. Podolski meanders around in the upper third of the pitch, without actually going into the box. His movement is shocking, and that's when he has something to prove.
^^^ I was actually agreeing with you AFL.

Podolski is a striker, just not in a one-striker formation.
Get this straight.
Podolski was at his best when playing in a 2-striker formation with Klose and Novakovic.
Well, obviously there is only one type of striker you know, like Wenger.

Sorry about that. My mistake.
The more Podolski doesn't play the more he gets overrated, everyone forgets how crap he is 90% of the time he plays
Are we getting a striker?
-----------------------
Could be. Sometimes players are only available in Jan and then we lose out against greater competition in the summer.
I expected Sanogo to start yesterday. And we could have won if he did. We have a huge problem with hard working strikers in a single striker system. But Wenger said he wants Yaya to go out on loan.
So thats leaving our strike force rather limited if Welbeck and Giroud get injured.
