One result doesn't make a manager.
not one result just a feeling that the team are gelling and his style and methods seem to be working
We still need to up our game against lower opposition. I mean most of our best performances have come against the bigger teams, and yesterday was no exception. I think the fans could probably help with that somewhat.
But there is an obvious improvement in the team now from last season. Poch is doing well.
Fair enough killer, it's just we had similar moments under AVB. The result at Old Trafford springs to mind.. I agree he's doing a good job but we're far from where we want to be yet.
An injury to Kane and we're back to square one.. as you say it could all change with a few bad results. I think Poch has shown enough that he deserves backing - properly - in the transfer market. Give him a couple of seasons and see what he's really made of.
Bales as I said never wanted poch sacked and on an earlier post I said we should keep him at least untill the new stadium is built unless things go drasticly wrong, then we will have less unceartainty, more income and hopefully more pulling power ,wages wise to attract top players to really kick on, and who knows at the end of it all he may be right one after all

What Bales said
Judge him at the end of the season, I'd say if he's got a cup and a top 6 finish, it's a building platform
If we sign 3 good players and Kane maintains his purple patch, we could theoretically finish ahead of Arsenal and even United. BUT - we need to sign 2 or 3 new players.

Need to sell 3 or 4 then first
Holtby as good as gone, ditto Benny, Vlad preferred to Naughton and Kaboul on the bench..
But how do you solve a problem like Adebayor?
All irrelevant as Levy wont secure any of the targets identified by MP. We wont even get Schinderlin, whose Arsenal bound.
"Need to sell 3 or 4 then first"
Think Levy will take a haircut on Soldado, Paulinho and Capoue etc? I'd be amazed if we sold any of the above. You just know Levy is touting Soldado for £20m .
Seriously though, they are a 2, maybe 3 players, from being the best side we had since Redknapp's last season.

His contract ends 30th June 2015 along with Benny's so that's two off the roster
I think despite what we want, there is no way we're signing a striker of any quality this window.
Which team would be willing to let a quality striker go halfway through a season! Especially a Premier League proven one ala Bony.
Berhino I don't think is the answer, and especially not worth some of the prices quoted.
Not signing a striker this window is not the same as not backing Poch, as to buy we also need someone willing to sell, and I don't think there is exactly an abundance of quality strikers that are surplus to their clubs.
Yes money talks, but not the kind of money we have available we have to spend.

I'd imagine we need to ship 3 long term contract players like Soldado, Paulinho, etc
Won't even get Schneiderlin??
We tried, we bid, he demanded a transfer and even went public with it, and still they didn't sell!
not a lot more we could have done on that one.
Plus, Mason may not be the big name signing, but he's definitely added to our recent form, safe to say in all likelihood we wouldn't have seen him if we'd signed Schneiderlin in the summer.
I think the players have adapted to his style of play and hopefully Kane can keep his form. A cup would be nice and top 6 finish would be nice. 3 additional players for hte summer would be good (ball playing CM, striker and a CB to cover Vertonghen/Fazio)
This result means nothing if we don't build on it. That's the test Poch and the players have to pass. This needs to become the springboard for this season NOT the highlight. Let's wait and see.
I was critical of all the changes Poch made vs Utd and CFC but it worked. We looked fresher than both and Utd looked spent vs Stoke too. Good management and 4 points from games where I'd take 2 was massive. A real step forward and now everyone is starting to see the Poch style rather than criticising Spurs players for not being capable of playing the Poch way
I have been critical of Poch and one game does not answer all the questions but yesterday was fantastic.
If nothing else our heads did not drop as soon as we conceeded and at no point did we look like we were going to collapse thats a distinct improvement and we have to give him credit for that.
I will also give him full credit for his dealing with Adebayor I just wish it had been done 3 years ago
