Better than Sanogo.

Sanogo is probably the worst striker to ever play for Arsenal.

someone said if we let him go it will be as bad as United letting Pogba go!
-----------
Whoever said that needs to chill the fack out.

Put it this way - he's far more likely to end up a non-league player within 3 years than he is to ever become half the player Pogba is.

I heard his contract is up this summer.

If so, he'd better get his 'making it at Arsenal' skates on pretty sharpish.

As for Akpom.....another overrated player from the acadamy. If he was any good he'd have already played more for us

Park Chu Young loan deal in January to save our season! (Or is he still on our books?)

I can imagine his limited game time is related to Wenger's regrets concerning Gnabry.

Young players need as much game time as they can get during their formative years 18-22. While that statement might imply "Give them as much much first team minutes as possible", it's more "Wrap them in cotton wool so they don't lose momentum to serious injury"

This league is agricultural even at the highest level. Young players will get targeted. It happens so consistently, and to absolutely no uproar, that the only recourse is to postpone blooding quality youth players until they're either old enough, or failing that physically dominant enough to cope with the rigours of this league.
We've lost too many players who looked absolutely quality to bad injuries from playing them to soon.

Gnabry,
Frimpong,
Theo (shoulder),
Diaby,
Ramsey,
Wilshere,
Gibbs,
Miyaichi,
Afobe,
Ox.

All quality players who've lost valuable formative experience lying around in the physio room instead of honing their technique.

No need adding Akpom to that list. We don't need him in our first team now. We might need him much more in the future when he can go toe-to-toe with the Shawcrosses and Cattermoles of this here league.

Give it 18 months when he's in his late 20s.

Chuba has been very good in the youth side but I can't help thinking that he would have made more of an impact on the first team by now if he was going to have a future at Arsenal

Showed his worth 2 years ago in pre-season. Has been averaging 2 goals a game in the (albeit Div 2) u21 premier league.

But he's a Centre Forward, and we've only got one of those positions in our formation. Think of his situation like that of Damien Martinez. 4th choice centre forward in a team that only ever needs one at a time.

Viviano yes they all had injuries but most of them had 50 odd apps age 20. I've seen nothing to suggest Akpom won't be another Lupoli or Merida.

From what I've seen he's got everything you want from a number 9, he's quick, strong, good technically and a natural finisher but that's only a few pre season and youth games. I don't understand why he hasn't had more opportunities especially when it's similiar to players like Ebecilllo, Nordveit and Özyakup who could of all arguable done a job for us.

Akpom was excellent in pre-season last year (on our Far East trip)? Haven't heard much of him since. Sanogo was bought the same summer so you have to wonder how well Akpom would have progressed if Yaya had not been bought or if Akpom had shown what he was capable off before the purchase.

It can't be good for your confidence when someone as bad as Sanoho is getting games ahead of you for whatever reason.

FFS his only 19, give the boy a chance. Theo was pretty much Krap at that age. That other lot down the road are now seeing the benefits of Arry Kane who's 21 but up until now was not really a presence.

he still needs to show something

true, but how many games has he been given? and remember this is wenger, who has persisted with strikers like sanogo and before him a dross lot of bucket.

apart from henry hehehehe

Thats exactly the problem, when he is given the chance he needs to show something or he'll never be given a run and just go on silly loans till being sold to a championship team

Not always. Wenger is 'more' motivated that Sanogo develops because he has paid money for him.

Sanogo was a free I thought

Some of you are going OTT with the Wenger noise. Its not all about technical ability, especially with younger players. Akpom may still get marked out of it against any decent defender, he did at Brentford. As poor as Sanogo is in some respects I've never seen a defender stop him getting involved.
