We should have never let him go
Moyes' time at United shouldn't take anything away from the fact that he's a good manager, however no matter what he achieves with Real Sociedad or with any other club, it won't change the fact that United were 100% right to bin him.

Would you not have given him another year?
Always thought utd would tbh
Moyes was a disaster. Hope he does well in Spain though.

No, not after the Liverpool and City disasters in March. Those games were the last straw for me.
Agreed. But i dont tbunk any manager after fergie would have done well tbh. Last season was always most likely be a right off imo
Moyes is a good manager as tonight showed and the predicament that Martin in Everton is also showing.
Most managers would have struggled last season. Lvg is a great manager and struggled at the start of the season. We probably wouldn't be in the top 4 without the signings we've had.
Anyway, I'm glad Moyes is rebuilding his reputation. No one will ever know how he would have done in his second season at United but what we do know is that most of the best managers in football were sacked at one point or another. It happens. Sometimes a role isn't the right fit at that particular time.
Any right minded person will accept that Moyes deserves a second chance at big club and hopefully he gets that if his project at Sociedad works out well

Robb - i didnt like the moyes appointment but kind of understood it because of the 6 year contract. Mainly because i didnt see us spending £60m on one player but the club needed an overhaul.
Truth be told i didnt expect silverware for a while and was kind of looking forward to a rebuild over a few years. And if anyone was going to give a chance to a manager thought it would be us. Especially with the saf era and what that bought
Still not convinced it was all moyes fault either but hatred for him was next level. Although fans on match day were fantastic towards him inside grounds
All the fallings out etc dont know for certainty tbh between him and the players
Agreed. Just didn't work out but people on here seem convinced it would never have worked out had he gotten money and kicked out some of the players who didn't like him.
It's done now but was a shame he didn't get the time. Lvg really doesn't seem much of an improvement.
Robb - i honestly think lvg has gotten a get out of jail free card due to the ridicilous amount of injuries with some of our performances
Will be interesting when we have a full squad or close to it. Done a thread on it as i cant see how he will put oug a balanced side. Could he leave out Shaw for example?
We will have to sell some of our big players in my opinion. Say mata for example and it will be at a loss
Did you guys actually watch the game? It was bog standard park the bus and hope for the best.

I remember a certain SAF playing that way against Barca too. He also won 1-0.

Who would have thought Messi being shackled by Moyes tactics and giving Moyes a handshake after the game Sociedad didn't let Barcelona have any space near there box, it was no suprise that Barcelona couldn't find a breakthrough. Moyes had a great record at Goodison Park against the Chelsea Man city's.
