It's starting to get tricky, deciding who you want to win matches!

I was really rooting for you lot against Chelsea, and loved it when you battered them, but really I should have been hoping for a Chelsea win

I beg to differ, if in doubt, anyone but Arsenal always works for me.

I agree to an extent, but Arsenal aren't usually a threat to our ambition

Liverpool is the one for me, even if they were 14th and were playing the team below us, I'd still want the other team to win!

Anyhow... I'm off out.

Wish me luck in case I bump into Convicted Vandal (and bovver boy) Weare

So, doubting the validity of a conviction, any conviction, equates to siding with accused?

No it doesn't.

In this case it does. You believe his version of events over the decision of the court.

It doesn't mean you agree with everything he did that night, although by definition if you're saying he shouldn't be convicted despite not knowing everything about the conviction, and despite a high court judge saying it was safe, and the sentence right, you must have a mind that he's innocent.

Either way, that's how it looks.

You all saying this is a purely academic debate now based on your in depth knowledge of the law and this case?

Keep explaining it all you like, he's been proven guilty. Innocent till proven guilty right?

Not on this forum apparently.

A jury thought there was sufficient evidence..

A high court judge ruled the conviction fair and denied appeal.

You're going to educate him where he got it wrong?

It's just going round in circles. Same crap being written as 3 days ago and some quite horribly sexist comments too unfortunately!

He is not appealing.

At least actually read about the convicted rapist that you're going to defend.

Bales, are you deliberately being obtuse? I don't know whether he's guilty or not, if he is he can rot as far as I'm concerned.

I don't support or have any empathy for him other than I can't see how he can be found guilty beyond reasonable doubt, given the information that I've read. I would feel exactly the same if we were discussing Joe Bloggs being convicted of theft if the evidence against him was as sketchy as it seems to be in this case.

Like I said, they OBVIOUSLY knew a lot now about what happened than us.

A high court judges opinion on the verdict or yours?

The supreme court will be looking to see that nothing was missed, it's not an appeal in the sense that new evidence will be admitted etc.

Agreed.

I'm not being deliberately obtuse, I just don't believe that for a second.

As if you look out for cases of injustice wherever they appear.. how's Gary McKinnon getting on?

So, having read the evidence that is in the public domain I shouldn't express an opinion on it and if I do so in a manner the casts doubt on the validity of the conviction I'm supporting him?
