Think Feruz made the wrong choice by going to chelsea, who was the last youngster to make the breakthrough at chelsea.
granted Celtic don't have the best record either but you would have thought he would have been better staying put and possibly getting some 1st team action.
john Obi was bought i'm sure, don't think he came through their academy.
Genuinely think John Terry was the last, maybe a few others Jody Morris?
I remember the row alright. Thought he may have started his Chelsea career in the youths though.
Thats incredible we can't think of another apart from Terry.
probably is, i'm sure they came around at the same time though.
Scott Sinclair, Fabio Borini & Miroslav Stoch all signed for Chelsea at 16 before being sold shortly after.
Google is a wonderful thing
There's another one who was tipped for greatness, been on loan loads.
Nathaniel Chabolah or something, think he is at Watford the now
Amazing that any Irish/Scottish/Welsh kids come through EPL ranks at all. Worldwide scouting at 14/15 it must be near on impossible.
Porto must have one of the best international scouting systems in the world.
Portugal must be pretty lenient on the old work permit front for them to get all those South Americans in so young
the money they recoup from selling players is phenomenal.
I read somewhere that Chelsea currently have 38 players out on loan
Ruben loftus cheek has made his first appearance this season. Highest paid youth ever.
Kalas, ake, chalobah, kakuta, have featured slightly.
Sturridge was brought in from city and got some time.
Jon Harley was about the same time as Terry... They've not done well on that front, but the trophy haul has been great.
Mourinho has stated he wants to see more benefits this season
English youth teams would suggest they have great youth player's.
However England youth teams never make the step up, comparatively
