Very Exciting Attack

Problem you still have is where Ozil plays.

He can't play out wide so has to be more central and its the same for Cazorla

In a crazily attacking setup, if we play 4-1-4-1 then the two CM positions can be Ozil and Cazorla

ok we may let in a few but it would be an entertaining, end-to-end match!

I honestly think Cazorla would work well in a deeper-lying position (not as the main ball-winner, but playing in the position Ramsey or Wilshere occupy).
His possession retention is the best in our squad, as is his ability to switch play to the flanks, whilst his defensive qualities are very underrated.

My problem with Ramsey and Wilshere in the role is that they both like to drive forward from deep - particularly the former who likes to make runs in-behind the defence - as effective as this can be going forward, it leaves us vulnerable to the counter.
Cazorla has a range of passing to allow him to impact the game without foraying forward too much - much like Fabregas does for Chelsea, or Kroos does for Madrid, of like Xavi used to do for Barcelona.

It might be worth experimenting with Coquelin, Cazorla, and Ozil just ahead of them in the attacking midfield role.

I too would like to see Cazorla play from deep. This will allow Özil to get that no 10 spot too. Cazorla is tactically a very good player and he no longer loses the ball as easily like he did in his first season where he tried more risks. In the deep position he keeps the game ticking nicely. A recognised DM is needed however, playing him and Ramsey as main midfielders is way too open

Well as it stands, Ozil doesn't get in for me.

Cazorla has been on top form

Unless we can re-train Ramsey as a DM? I think he has all the qualities, we'd just need to remove that attacking instinct from his psyche

I agree - not sure the balance would be quite right with Ramsey and Cazorla, but having Cazorla able to play both the deeper-lying position and the AM position would provide some good options to allow us to rotate the squad.

I'd go with the foreigners in the centre over the next few weeks.

Arteta----Cazorla
--------Ozil----------

As exciting as the Ox, Ramsey and Wilshere are they are just so inconsistent. Something about young British talent at the moment, can't be consistent. They get too much hype too early. Let them develop some hunger on the bench. Also they are always getting injured. I think consistency is the key and Ozil, Cazorla and Arteta are just classy players. The Flame will have to fill in until Arteta is back.

"Arteta----Cazorla
--------Ozil----------"

Is there enough energy and power in that though?

It's all well and good having these small technical players but any remotely physical side will bulldozer straight through them.

that would also be my worry. I think a stronger physical presence than Arteta would go a long way to countering that though.
But even without that, those 3 would keep large amounts of possession and create lots of chances.

The question is would these chances outweigh the threat from counter attacks and set pieces. Personally I think we'd continue to have inconsistent results.

We badly need Ramsey's goals - the Ramsey of last season, if he can be found again.
Cazorla, Ozil, Rosicky, Arteta, Wilshere, OC, just do not score goals in double figures.

That's where I disagree though. I love Ramsey, don't get me wrong, for me he is future captain so I don't want anyone to get the wrong end of the stick. But right now over the next few weeks what we need is defensive stability and some calm experience heads in the middle who can help us control the midfield battle. In Giroud, Welbeck, Walcott and Sanchez we have plenty of goals. What we have lacked this season period, is consistent creativity in the middle. It's like the opposite of last year. Most of our goals this year have come from the power of Alexis, Chamberlain, Welbeck and Giroud.

With a midfield trio of Ozil, Cazorla and Arteta/Flamini I think we have lots of creativity. Long term Ramsey is in there, but we don't need three weeks where he is finding his feet, trying to score goals and not playing his best at the expense of the team performance.

This Ozil's comeback has been overstated a tad. He wasn't exactly lighting up our play before he got injured .
The German will a need massive improvement especially in the physical side of things to upstage Cazorla for a starting berth.

exactly.

its very tempting to shove all your best players on a sheet of paper and start jacking off, but you have to remember who you'll be playing against.

I too, am very cautious about ozil because I remember he wasn't play very well before his injury. Hopefully playing in his best position will bring the best out of him.
