it seems that people are being more upset by the non-existent furore over this
very quick to be outraged by the hoped for outrage
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This
All what I want to know is when are the "White music Awards", and when are we getting an apology off the Italian government for their part in the atrocities that occurred so far in the past that no one alive is actually even affected by said atrocities??
I sometimes get Fabregas and Oscar mixed up in games where the camera is a bit far from the pitch as they're both small and dark haired.
Damn guess I'm a racist as well.
I get confused all the time between bald players and short-haired blond ones, especially in floodlit games. I'm that despicable and short-sighted.
If only players had something printed on their shirts to identify them at glance.....
The ref got Gibbs and the Ox wrong at the Bridge last season. It's quite often the case that when someone scores they are not sure who it is and sometimes give the wrong scorer first.

I thought this was the linesman, didnt the ref ask which player and the linesman mistook Chamberlain for Gibbs because he was in the position the full back should take (and yeah they look alike)

Not enough though. They should each wear different colour kits.

Iused to mix up Marcello and that other guy that played for real and looked exactly like him
I actually watched it live with Jeff Stelling explaining that it wasn't meant to be racist and then handing over to Nicholas for him to explain himself.
One of the most embarrassing things I've seen on live TV.
What's the world coming to!!

I am a bit of a lefty politically brummie, but I think when something like this happens someone of a different colour assumes the black population would be offended by what Nicholas had said and apologises when in fact nobody would have been bothered or would have noticed.
I'm a bit right of centre myself GUNNER. I've since looked at a picture of them and they do look alike apart from height.
I find it very sad how any thing, no matter how innocently said can be misconstrued by some people.
I often think it's complete nobodies looking for their little bit of fame!
I think if there was any outrage on twitter then the majority of it may well have been trolling/twitteridiots and therefore no one of any consequence actually cared about what happened. Skysports obviously have to cover themselves as best they can so an apology was always going to happen.
Does anyone else get Oscar and Fabegas mixed up?
Or is it just me
Until Hazard starts moving i cant always tell its him over Fab or Oscar. But he dribbles in a very distinct style

Brummie exactly what I said earlier in the thread. From a distance it can be difficult at times.

The KKK host that one I believe
brummie
I told my 6 yr old daughter that her fav Chelsea player,Oscar, played beside his Dad........Costa.
She believed me,for a bit.
for saying Fernandinho and Fernando look the same.
-------------
But they do, apart from the letters "inh"
i remember Fernandinho and Robinho plus Willian and Marcelo posting a picture noting their own similarities, what a stupid non story and I actually think sky let themselves down indulging the faux outrage with an apology.

Yeah, it's PC madness like this that undermines real racism. To me real racism is treating someone differently because of their ethnicity or country of origin; simply mixing up two people in terms of identity is ludicrous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, so by that logic, when American police in the 50s shot black people who sort of looked like other black people they were trying to arrest....it wasn't racist?
Not saying Charlie Nicholas is racist or said a racist comment, I often got Kompany and Fernando confused for instance...
but it is relative to how you apply those observations
