However, you've made a mistake re "3 LB's" - Rojo is a CB, Blind is a DM and Shaw who is a LB has been injured a lot. Young has actually been brilliant at LWB, obviously being used to LW it's the same but with a little bit more defensive responsibility.

I think many of us would like to see 4 defenders, Di Maria wide, Rooney & RvP up top etc... no idea what LvG's playing at tbf.

Rooney should never play in midfield. A complete waste of a player and midfield position.

I think most of our fans would prefer Blind or Carrick with Herrera at CM, Mata CAM and Rooney, Di Maria and RvP across the front.

i dont mind Rooney in midfield if he's the main attacking mid. that role is not too different to a number 10. If however you play him and Mata, then Rooney drops even further deeper and thats where his influence starts to wane.

my mistake ive only ever seen these two play in the world cup where both played left back (blind played dm too tbf).

Also heard somewhere that Rooneys dropped deep in a bid to replace scholes. Got me thinking, who's gonna replace "Rooney" then? RVPs not the same and not sure about Falcao.

Blind played as the left of a back 3, he's comfortable at LCB or LB but is really a DM. I believe Rojo filled in at LB, but is actually a CB.

People have said the Rooney/Scholes thing and it may be on the cards in say 3-4 years, as Rooney ages, but right now he's still got the energy and sharpness (not to mention quality) to be up top.
