Doesn't letting 3 of our 4 first team defenders go class as "selling anyone of note"?

No as they didn't generate massive transfer fees if at all, nor were they asked to sign new contracts so weren't classed as important by Manchester united.

TBF Maurice that was a lame comment; however, I will stick up for him now on the basis that, following Liverpool CL matches this season, many of us were told "why are you watching Liverpool, you support United", "we only watch Liverpool matches" and one even said that he fast-forwards through MotD (to the end) so he only sees the Liverpool match
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So your defence is that Liverpool have weird fans too? Please tell me you're not a lawyer
Seriously, I don't know a single football fan that watches their team and only their team. Surely if you love the sport you at least have a passing interest in the rest of them!
There are times I actually enjoy watching as a neutral - much less stressful!

Most of the lads in the football team I play for support lower-division clubs, and they've obviously seen CL games, but they don't watch it regularly. (I too have seen CL games other than Liverpool's, but not many. Probably less than half a dozen since Liverpool were last in it...actually, I'm hard-pressed to think of more than 2).
I support Liverpool, I'm not interested in anybody else...why would that amaze you? I play 3 times a week as well, and (aside from posting on here), that's pretty much the sum of the time I spend on football....there's other things to do."

This is the point I was making to Wessie Road, as a football fan surely you are a fan of football in general and will, therefore, watch matches of other teams too. Which, as you can see above, he refuted - claiming to have seen only 2 CL games not concerning Liverpool, ever. Bizarre!
But similarly, I have made comments about a Liverpool match before and other Liverpool posters have asked "why are you watching Liverpool?" - again, weird if you ask me!

Only exception to this one is that you sometimes get fans commenting on a liverpool game when their own team is playing. That I find a bit odd, why would you not be watching your own team?!
Yeah, I could understand that - but that would be rare, considering that televised games are moved so as not to clash

Spurs fans are notorious for it. No shocks there though.....
You can be a football fan without wanting to constantly watch football.
Don't see what is so weird about Wessie's post.
He watches Liverpool games and plays 3 times a week. That's a lot of football.
There are other things in the world.
I barely watch any football these days other than my local team live and Liverpool on the telly/Internet.
Just don't have the time with other things in my life.
I think there are a lot of young lads on this site who have virtually no responsibilities and so can sit and watch football all day every day, good for you, but not everyone can, nor wants to.
And that's fair enough. But in the context of the original discussion Wessie waded in basically saying that anyone watching another team but their own is weird - berating Utd fans for having had the audacity to watch Liverpool's CL match.
I don't think anyone here watches every single match available to them, but on a Tuesday night if there isn't anything that I particularly want to watch I will stick the CL match on...
Yeah that's fair enough, I don't think watching other teams is weird, unless you clearly care more about hating a team than supporting your own (Dr Phil).
I don't watch as much football as I used to. As R1 said there are other responsibilities in life. Even now my father tells me my brain is just Liverpool and my wife tells me all I care about is football. I watch a few every Liverpool game unless it's an emergency, even at that when my wife was in A&E the other week I sat on the waiting room with the game on my phone. I have watched a load of United games this season and some Football League due to having bets on but that's about it. I used to watch ever game I could. Times change.

And that's what most are saying - Wessie Road avoids all other football like the plague, including FW'ing MotD until Liverpool's game.
I also watch a bit of Russian football.
Wessie has his own responsibilities as he told you.
TOOR, FFS I've just explained this to righteous.
The conversation was the other way round - I don't give a toss about Wessie's responsibilities - he said it was weird for non-Liverpool fans to watch Liverpool play.
I watch United hoping they will be beaten, when it becomes obvious they are going to win, I turn over.
You must watch us to the end quite a lot these past couple of years, compared to before
