I know and I still do, hes never been able to get into the team when we have been good, hes the only dm weve got so no point selling him unless theres a replacement. Hes not hard to improve upon.
===============
Absolutely - it's not like he played 25 games in a season when we put together a league challenge is it.
Fletcher and Mikel have not got any medals and these highly professional squad players should be got rid of.
You've said he's not hard to improve on. Go on then. Who, at what cost and when are they signing? What "proper DM" do you have in mind.
If you name a good looking young hispanic type I'll let out a bit of wee.

Doesnt matter who I name, if you thonk lucas is good enough for a club that want to improve on top 4 thats fine, hes not a top dm imo, hes alright...
Other have said they think he should be improved upon aswell
Also, whats your obsession with hispanics, its very strange
I don't think replacing Lucas is a high priority... However in the summer we will need to analyse his position
He does a substantial job as a DM and he deserves to start in that position atm, however some sections of Liverpool fans think he's like the best in the world for some reason?
Maybe because he has a fine attitude.... Which is commendable, but I'm sorry but we will need better at some point
His stats are very good. I like a squad for different occassions and I also think that many don't take in the other aspects of the game. Can't really argue with the fact he is covering ground, winning tackles and keeping the ball.
Kind of does matter who other people can name otherwise it's just empty rhetoric.

Good article here with some names and stats to back them up.
Not saying we could or should sign any of them, I haven't seen most of them play, but I think there are players out there who may be gettable who could prove better than Lucas.
I agree it's not a huge priority though, which is why despite the media I can't see us selling him in this window. To be honest he is has been being sold in pretty much every window since Rodgers took over according to the press.
Imo people who wouldn't mind Lucas going don't really want a defensive mid.
They want a centre mid who can defend we'll while also passing forward and chipping in with the attacks as well
The results have improved when he came in and I just don't see why we would sell a player who has just forced his way into the team and has 2 years left on his deal.
Unless we are going to buy an out and out DM to replace him. Who's going to do the job?
I have been saying Lucas should be one of the first names on the team sheet for years. I am convinced the people who don't rate him are ones who f@nny about playing fantasy football leagues cos Lucas is not a plyer who makes headlines.
However, without him, we have NO MIDFIELD. His qualities are obvious to me...disciplined, understands the role, snappy in the tackle, excellent simple passer and best of all, he loves the club and gives his all every time he plays. He is the the one who enables others to perform. I am so happy he is playing a vital role again. Rodgers would be insane to sell him....now or any time.
We need a DM that is a threat from set pieces.
Lucas doesn't offer much of a goal threat - ever.

Yeah you have also been saying Gerrard is rubbish for years.
Please don't expect people to take you seriously.
Correct Righteous. Gerrard has been quite rubbish for a few years. Anyway, I tthought this article was about Lucas you half wit
Lu as ticks the ay alomg mich better thsn gerrard does at the back and you know woth lucas that either the ball or the man woll get taken and thus slow down play.
Imo he does a good a job as matic bit for some reason does not get anywhere near the same plaudits

Lucas is a fine player but the problem is when he plays well it hardly gets noticed as he doesn't get any headlines and when hes bad he gets slated by idiots on this board. No need to sell him and it looks like hes getting back to his best as before his injury issues he was one of the first names on the team sheet. Big fan of his. Makes me laugh how he never scores though him and Allen are pure comedy in front of goal, but thats not really his job so forgivable
