Have five stars from me, Phil

Surely Liverpool will win the league before they reach the billion pound in spending.

Only spent £767million and last transfer window they only spent £117million in the Summer.

They will surely win the league having spent that much after all Brendan is buying players for the future so I'd expect them to spend fook all over the next 5 years

Why do you care how much Liverpool spend Phil?

It's only money they make.

800m spent and nothing to show for it. No wonder Stevie is leaving

posted on 13/1/15

Nothing to show for it isn't true though is it.

We have won numerous trophies in that time.

More than anyone apart from 3 clubs possibly.

Everton meanwhile, have nothing to show for the last 20 years.

Literally nothing.

Never mind a billion, I heard you should be challenging for the title if you spend 100m.

Why do Liverpool supporters care how much Manchester United spend on wages.

It's only money they make after all

Liverpool = Worst money team of all time.

Quite interesting how much Villa and Sunderland have spent when you look at the relative performance over the last 10 years...

Do individuals not count for anything?

Are we all just sheep obsessed with the same opinions based on who we support?

I haven't met any other Everton fans as pathetic as you.

As much as I do not want to agree with a Liverpool fan, that comment about ' nothing to show for it' is verging on stupidity to be honest. Like he correctly said, they have won numerous trophies during that time.

You will have to check with Stevie Me who said he would consider his career a failure if he did not win the PL

Stevie is not Liverpool football club though is he? If personally that's a failure to him then that's him. Liverpool football has achieved a lot since the beginning of the prem. Could they have achieved more with that money spent? Probably. Have they shown something after all that expenditure?

I will let you answer that Einstein.

Very few Liverpool fans would argue that we should have achieved more with the money spent and players we have had.

There is a difference between that and achieving nothing/failing though.

That money has provided numerous trophies, European adventures, World club cup participation.

It hasn't been wall to wall success, but it's still better than the vast majority of teams.

I can understand Man Utd fans having a WUM about it because they are one of the few teams who did achieve more than us over the PL era so far.

Everton though?

How is it personal?

I am not Liverpool am I.

I am a person, completely separate to Liverpool football club.

Everton are a PL club, Liverpool are a PL club. It's perfectly reasonable to compare the two.
