Nice one, L&P

Sir Jack would have been hoping that you get stuffed by Everton so I hope the same. But apart from that, a nice gesture. Well done!

Good gesture by the Albion fans concerned

Looking for a publicity stunt.

It was straight on Twitter as soon as it was made.

What makes you say that, pundit?

I don't buy into the Internet and social media's false fabrication of death.

It's not about Albion, I'd he saying it if a Wolves fan made it for an Albion legend too.

Sir Jack hasn't been mentioned on social media in a long time and in the last few days there's been people openly saying they've been crying. Grown men taken in by the sentiments of an media machine more than their actual feelings towards Sir Jack.

Every week wolves and Albion both sing grotesque chants where they swear and mock each other.

You can't convince me that the kit man who made this banner did it for Sir Jack at all. He did it to gain the moral high ground to show people that Albion fans can be ok. That's nothing to do with the death of the man.

I've been called an ársehole by wolves fans tonight and there's a fine line in expressing this sentiment and actually being an ársehole but I'm big enough to take that in order to express a point.

I'm against social media's glamorisation of death and the self-publishing do-gooders who post RIP comments to gain some standing in their online communities.

It should be about Sir Jack. Not these idiôts

Theres always one ,

and it just happened to be you didn't it

*rsehole is not strong enough for you !!!!

OK pundit, I actually agree with you when it comes to RIP comments for the most part, I wish I could count the number of times I have gone onto Facebook and seen such things for any random celebrity who may have died, that for the most part is disingenuous rubbish and attention seeking.

I refrain from posting such things and rarely even post such things here for former players, only those that impacted my life.

But sir jack DID impact my life, massively, without him I doubt I would even be a wolves fan, as a young impressionable kid I got to following wolves during that spell where we just fell to bits in the mid 80s, I am sure I wavered, I didn't live in wolvo, i wasnt locked in at such a young age, but it was how we bounced back that kept me on board, and that is thanks to Sir jack, turner and bull.

Fair enough, I can totally see that cinci.

Unfortunately we now live in a world where people post things for the satisfaction of 'likes' on their statuses. I think it impacts greatly.

I had a look tonight. There's not been a Sir Jack thread on here in years. Out of mind out of sight. Successive relegations and talk of Steve Morgan and how he isn't doing enough.

It would have been nice if these crying fans would have written to Sir Jack to express their feelings when they knew he was ill.

Instead they spend their nights telling people how they've been crying, instead of keeping it to themselves. They want people to know for some grotesque reason as if it will put them in favour with other online users.

What you'll see now is how this will all be quickly forgotten. The chip shops will wrap chips in the tribute newspapers and these idîots will move on, not mentioning Sir Jack again.

All I'm saying is social media has changed the way people mourn and most of it, while it's nice, is done for self-satisfaction rather than the sentiment it should be meant.

That is down to us living in the now though Pundit.

I lost my dad 18 odd years ago, and i hear people tell me they think about their deceased parents every day, i can honsetly say i don't, weeks may pass where i don't think about him, but that doesn't mean he is forgotten, or i should think less of him, its just life.

And don't get me started on facebook these days, it just makes me sick the ammount of crap on that thing, it was good for a few years but now is just turgid rubbish and baby photos

You are getting to be a bigger pillock every day pundit

Many of the posters on here are old enough to have lived through Jack's era and I have sympathy.

But when I see some 12 year old kid talking about crying and the Bhatti brothers then my bûllshit radar kicks in and I probably come across as a knöb for speaking my hatred of social media

Unlike you I don't write things just to please people, I've always spoken my mind. Your lack of intelligence perceives me being disrespectful to Sir Jack when I'm actually criticising the do-gooders.

You DJ have actually become the pillöck and in the last month the most argumentative and troublesome member of our forum. Take a look in the mirror

We all take people, and situations, for granted. Hence the expression "familiarity breeds contempt".

You go to your favourite pub every night. You don't get there and say, "Oh great - it's that brilliant pub". You accept it's there and enjoy it.

It get's bulldozed, and then you miss what you had.

It's human nature to take certain comforts for granted. Why would anyone have wanted to be starting threads about Sir Jack?

Of course the news of his death resonated with most fans. Sometimes it's not until something like that happens that you realise how much you valued a person. How important they were to you in your life. You took them for granted. There has been a lot of genuine sadness about Jack Hayward's death, because he made an impression on so many people; and so many people had much to be thankful for.

Your cynical viewpoint carries little weight, and is like a fleabite in an otherwise excellent weekend

Strangely, pundit, you are using social media to tell us of your dislike for social media.

It's a strange fecked up world we live in.

I use it for a better means

Pundit if your sole aim is to become the most despised poster on this forum you are well on the way to acheiving your ambition. It has been many, many months since anyone has given any credance to what you post either as pundit or as your alter ego uncle herbert. So keep on digging but the hole just gets deeper and eventually you will disappear down it (and no-one will care)
