I was pretty happy to see Defoe replaced, as I thought we needed something different altogether and more consistent.
I'd have him all day long over Soldado though. We got consistency there alright. He misses all types of chance with the same consistency.
Can't argue with that HRH (lack of goals) but it's not like Defoe had been firing them in prior to his departure from Spurs.
At least with Soldado you know when he's on the pitch because he is constantly popping up with some neat link up play. Often with Defoe in his latter years, i actually forgot he was playing such was the anonymity of his performances.
It was the long spells with little goals that did me. He'd have spells where he was scoring virtually every game, then barren spells where nothing went in.
Unsuited to playing one up front too, in England anyway with its distinct stylee and conditions , pretty much like Soldado. Out of the two I'd rather have Defoe as an impact striker off the bench, but not first choice by any means.

So HRH reiterates the same point as Chicken, yet Luka disagrees with Chicken and agrees with HRH.
You really couldnt make it up ...
sandy,
Would you like me to show you a comparison of goals between Defoe and Soldado during their Spurs careers?
As for Harry, what has his current club got to do with the price of fish?
As for things looking up, and you quoting all the comps we are “well in the mix for”, I’ve bookmarked this article and I’ll revisit it in a few months to see how we compare….

You just made it up though didn't you.
Where did i mention Soldado? What i said was that i've been saying Defoe is pants for years and i can remember you disagreeing (which is fine) way back before Soldado joined
Soldado being pants doesn't mean we should have persisted with Defoe either.
You were wrong then and you're wrong now
Adebayor captain.
Point proven.
Next...
Luka,
Just add it to the list of other things I've been right about.
Kind regards

I thinks people's words about Ade were quite clear, its just i cannot imagine such a nightmare bloke, who is hated behind the scenes, and causes so much disruption would be handed the captaincy.
Point proven, move on...

sandy,
being just a couple of games from Wembley again and still very much involved in another two cup competitions and still well in the mix for a CL spot.

As i tried to say to you last week, being in the 4th round of the FA Cup is not really anything to shout about.
Lets hope you haven't cursed us for Wednesday too, by giving it too early...
