I have seen nothin to clarify/corroborate the Modric is staying rumour.

But I imagine we still won't get him anyway.

And then it vanished straight after you saw it

I suspect SSN were showing it and then out it off as the rumours started switching over in our favour

Modric met Levy today and made it very clear that he wanted to move to #CFC. Levy told him that was up to #THFC. Spurs waiting on new bid

According to Ian McGarry, of the Guardian.

I dunno why people don't like these transfer sagas, rumour and counter rumour leading to deadline day, it's like a soap opera only with an attention span lol

I really can't see a scenario where this isn't being resolved until deadline day. N i'm still very much of the opinion he'll be out of Spurs by Thursday morning, n i still for the life on me can't see it coming down to ourselves and Spurs without late interest emerging. But either way we'll have a new face in the centre of the park before the window slams shut.

Sky Sports reporting that Modric NOT in Spurs squad but it is their understanding he will be staying at Spurs.
web • 25/08/2011 19:25 this was posted by @CarloFan. He also said he saw it reported twice on SSN in the same hour. Loads of other stuff too. Can't find ssn ones now though!

They have all gone, the SSN reports. ie they are retracted due to invalidness.

Super Dan Sturridge

Actually, you are totally wrong, a strap line WAS appearing on SSN saying "Sky sources say Modric will stay at spurs" yesterday.
Calling people liars is unnecessary, even more so when you are completely wrong!
Think before typing insults

My biggest worry is we do a Torres II & pay well over the odds on the last knockings of the window for a player that isn't right for us

Torres has been an unmitigated disaster & I don't see him being here come next year
Modric - is too lightweight - what we need is a new Lamps - Josh might be that player - but he needs to be given a chance

Dunno whether he will get it though

you sounded like Martin Lipton then

Sherrif I also think we'll do a Torres and pay upto the price we paid for Fernando for Modeic - or at least bid that - but I think Modric will be more of a success than Torres has been

Afternoon Sherriff

Mind explaining how Modric is too lightweight for us but Josh isnt?

posted on 26/8/11

Modric is smaller than Josh and Josh holds the ball better. He has held off players much taller then him and never gets 'bullies' like everyone says. Modric when in a strength battle would always lose. But they both rely more on the quick feet

Sheriff.........Have to disagree with you on modric being too lightweight.

I admit in his first season in the PL he struggled to cope with the physical aspects of our league but watching him last season it is obvious he has learnt to adapt and handles it fine now.

Lads

You are reading me wrong...I didn't mean in stature

By lightweight - I mean he's not in Lampards class & certainly not at the inflated price we will inevitably pay for him, on the basis that he is being bought as a natural replacement..

Josh is lightweight on both counts to be fair - but is only 17-18 yrs old & will fill out & also will grow into the role - if given the chance

TBK.......

Modric being small has a low centre of gravity and that is an enormour bonus. modric has proven he can hack it in the PL and there is no grounds for doubting otherwise.
