In his time Rodgers has spent nearly £80m on defenders and they still leak like a sieve.

You mean like Redknapp, no Villas Boas, no Sherwood did at Spurs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rodgers reaping the rewards of Roys hard work before he was hounded out by the fans.
He'd even play Roy's keeper than the one he spent £10m .
And whos hard work does Pochettino have to thank for this current golden era of success at Spurs?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've effectively started from scratch. Redknapp had a quality and large squad and we played gung-ho football.
AVB played defensive possession football and the chances dried up.
Sherwood played, passionate play with the heart not the head, lacking any clear direction, football.
Poch has wiped the slate clean and his well known style is now starting to show, although he needs to add a few faces to fit the approach.
In terms of his success, we're half way through the season, still in all the cups and well placed for a CL spot, so success it is not but considering he's just in the job things appear better than one might have expected given all the change.
What's Rodgers excuse for being so sheite this season...i though he had a strategy. I though spending £100m and you should be challenging. GobshiteRodgers
We should be challenging. And this season hasnt been good enough. At no point in this thread, or any have I tried to imply otherwise.

I would without a doubt prefer to meet Chelsea in the final (should we get there).
Simply because should we face Liverpool, we will be facing Liverpool and the referee.
As well as having the sickening media Liverpool love-in to witness, with pundits, commentators and presenters all creaming their panties at the prospect of a Liverpool victory.
Much rather play Chelsea, we also have a good record against them in finals.

Why? Because you had a one off brilliant season when most things went your way, only 41 games, players in the form of their lives.
average, average, amazing, back to average.
See the pattern now?
You might have expected to challenge, but you are all delusional mousers after all!
Liverpool fans...
stop arguing with theese guys....gets ya nowhere....they are chelsea light...
lets just see what happens...we wont beat chelsea but sheff united are no mugs either
As neither a Spurs or Liverpool fan.
I can say that Liverpool have underachieved for years now, they should be doing so much better.
Spurs are not underachieving, until they move to a bigger ground they have no chance of challenging for the league.
At the moment your teams are about equal, but I think Pool have a slightly better squad.
Past success? Well I'm in my forties and remember Liverpool being great. I can only remember an occasional cup win for Spurs.
The Mousers` hoards of glory supporters have an ridiculous sense of entitlement, they all think they are still a footballing powerhouse that has a divine right to win trophies.
A one off season, when luck and everything else came together in their favour, has only fuelled this delude belief of the masses.
The reality is, they are a poorly run top half club, making £50m losses per season and wasting millions of pounds on over rated and poor footballers.
They have a 4 year net spend of £140m and have the 5th highest wage bill in the PL, yet they remain bang average. Only constant favour from referees keeps them in the top half of the table.

Agree Pool are badly run, given the advantages their fan base, profile etc give them they perform woefully below their potential.

Come on guys where's the love and respect. I admit to having a soft spot for Liverpool. Secretly admired them in the 80s and always been a well run club (previous owners an exception). When it comes to glory glory they are without doubt the masters.
Shame about their fans though, deserve much better.

I know two Liverpool supporters, both from essex both never set foot north of Watford nevermind been to Liverpool. They whinge and moan and have a ridiculous sense of entitlement because they chose their team based on glory back when Liverpool were good. Had they been born 10 years later they'd be Man U fans. Pair of prícks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So true, I know some people exactly the same, when questioned they claim to have some family from Liverpool.
We all know they decided to follow Pool because they were winning everything when they were growing up.
I'm not like that and I have no sense of entitlement. I don't celebrate mediocrity either (like coming 5th a few times) but the fact remains Spurs are the biggest underachievers in Premiership history.
