It would have been good to compare the shirts sold in Liverpool between Everton and Liverpool

I have supported my club for 60 years, never brought a shirt in my life. Buying a shirt in my opinion does equate to being a good supporter.

Tourists in London are a big reason for these stats.

Why is Lagos the second highest for Chelsea
Considering their lack of success Arsenal sell more than Chelsea
Why are more City shirts sold in Stockport than Manchester?

It's one sports shop, and a mega chavy one at that.
Not a representative study at all.

Of course it isn't
Hmm let me see..I'm in Manchester and I want to buy a City shirt. Do I go to Sports Direct and pay full wack or to the City Store where I can get a discount with my season card?

City seasoncard holders get a healthy discount at the club shop so I doubt many will go to Sports Direct.
Most self respecting adults cringe at the thought of wearing a football shirt. It always seems to be fat beer swillers that re seen in them.
This is no true indication of how many fans a club has at all. It could easily mean that United fans see them as an every day fashion item, and City fans don't.
Come to think of it, would exactly is your point OP?
I wonder what's with the sudden surge of Dublin Villains?

I met a United fan girl from Liverpool a couple of weeks back. It did surprise me at first.

Villa have always been a fairly well supported club in Ireland, United and Liverpool being the most supported with Arsenal after that.
It's really due to the number of Irish players who have represented these clubs over the years, that's the main reason for an Irish fan following an English club.
Like Villa had Paul McGrath and Steve Staunton playing for them, 2 ROI legends, Staunton and McGrath also played for Liverpool and united so you can begin to see the trend. Liam Brady for Arsenal etc.
I follow Liverpool mainly due to Ronnie Whelan who is from Dublin, not too far from where I grew up, he played for Ireland and Liverpool so I was drawn to Liverpool.
Also, just to point out, a football jersey looks awful on adults, goign to a game or playing football / gym then it's OK but to see a full grown man in jeans and a jersey just looks awful. I used to buy jerseys every year in my early 20's but not bought one for years now, never wear them to games, just my scarf and maybe a hat if it's winter. (no pants or anything just a hat and scarf)
Moan utd fans brand slaves
(no pants or anything just a hat and scarf)

Even the Geordies would think twice about that...
"Most surprising of all is perhaps Aston Villa who have seen a huge chunk of their shirts being sold in Dublin, ahead of their home city Birmingham and other nearby cities."

Dion Dublin played for Aston Villa......thats why they sell a lot in Dublin......................
