Not sure if Wenger should be in or out for this
Players discuss tactics with their coaches all the time. They're pro footballers, not elementary school kids.
Obviously these things are hard to predict but i wonder which of our players could go on to have a successful career in management after there playing days are over
I'd say most likely would be Arteta. He just seems like a very clever guy who understands tactics and has abit of leadership qualities. Perhaps he could become David Moyes assistant at Sociedad once he retires
I'm sure the invisibles was like this, I don't see it as a big thing, I think finally they taken some initiative
Not one quote in that article suggests that the players gave Wenger advice.
At most, you could say that Wenger listened to his players worries and went more defensive to "reassure" them. How that constitutes to his players advising him how to beat City though I don't know.
Giroud did an interview aswell, he said wenger didn't specifically tell them to sit back and counter.
Honestly, I'm treating that result as a one off. I'll take them seriously if they do put in similar types of performances.
Dubbed getting done by media sensationalism again, only one day after the Theo Walcott article was exposed as a fraud come on now
The Irish Examiner! Come on. This is a desperate new low.
Ok say this is true, why is this news? Surely as a manager you need to listen to the players input...this doesn't just apply in football but other jobs too. As far as tactics go, there's no way a manager asks players opinions other wise he'd get undermined but all successful managers do consult with their senior players on their perspective.
This is a bit depressing, it suggests Wenger still doesn't know what he is doing tactically and doesn't understand what is required if the change of approach came from the dressing room.
For those that don't pay credence to the Irish Examiner - and continue to poo-poo the media - with comments like "don't fall for it" etc etc - here is the respected John Cross in the Mirror.

Again, what do any of those quotes actually say in regards to players advising Wenger.
All he actually says is that the impression he got from his players is that they weren't confident, so he set up a more solid formation to reassure them.
This is good management imo and has nothing to do with players "forcing" or telling him what to do.
