I think wenger may start giroud. But won't be to surprised if akpom does start. Other than that, the team will probably be similar to what you said.

Apparently Ozil has been bulking up in an effort to be less of a lightweight and fit in more in England. Be good to see him back and if that's made a difference.

Would like Ospina to start. Hasn't played enough to need rotating, and needs as many games as he can get.

Expect Chambers, Ozil, Walcott and Rosicky all to start. Wouldn't be surprised if Flamini starts as well.

Doubt Akpom will start.

It wouldn't be a shock if Alexis plays either, Wenger wanted to rest him v Hull be Alexis wanted to play. The player won that argument so a big chance he will do the same today.

Something like:

---------------Szczesny--------------
--Bellerin--Per---Kos---Gibbs--
---------Flamini----Coquelin------
------Theo-----Ozil-----Rosicky---
--------------Giroud/Akpom--------

With a week between now and our next game, there's no reason to rest anyone for that. Probably worth giving the likes of Alexis and Santi who have played a lot of football a break, but apart from some minit rotation I'd hope we go with a fairly strong team overall.

*minor rotation

Yeah I doubt they'll be much resting. The players have had 7 days rest, and don't play again until next Sunday. They will all be fresh. Couple of positions rotated, but won't be much different from our strongest available 11.

Don't think it is about resting players, more the opposite. Give players who haven't played a lot due to injury a 90 minute run out.

Agree mate. Learning from our opponents who all failed we should start the best possible team apart from Santi and Alexis who should take a breather.

Mertesacker too.

Koscielny is more likely to be rested than Per.

Yes, but that would have a greater impact on the team. I'm suspicious of Mertesacker and Chambers in a pairing, either with Chambers as the RB or as the other CB. Mertesacker's strengths flourish when he has a faster player covering him, which is why Bellerin is able to perform well at right back. This is now a cup it looks very much like we could win. Not only that, Mertesacker hasn't been rested this season.

Maybe we can use Koscielny if we're confident enough of acquiring Paulista.

I think the only players that need resting are Alexis, Cazorla and Ox. Maybe Giroud as well as hes at his best when hes fresh. In fact, others need the game time, like Ramsey and Walcott..

My team would be

Ospina
Monreal/Gibbs
Kos
Chambers
Bellerin
Coq
Ramsey
Rosicky
Ozil
Walcott
Akpom

For all the derision brendan Rodgers faced for resting sterling and sending him on holiday, there is no doubt he has come back looking sharper and his form had returned. We should have done a similar thing for alexis

I'd go for:

Ospina
Bellerin Mert Chambers [either LB]
Ramsey Coq
Walcott Ozil Rosicky
Giroud

Kos needs a rest more than Per, and I think our doubly gangly pairing can at least survive Brighton. Would give Gnabry a run out in place of Rosicky but I'm not sure he's fit yet. Not convinced Akpom's really ready to lead the line either.

Doubt we will see Akpom. Not likely to have an impact in the remainder of the season with Giroud, Alexis, Welbs and Theo about.

It's encouraging to think that a lot of the suggested teams here are starting 11s similar to what we may have considered our best, fit 11 in recent times. Now we can play a very strong side of players coming back to fitness/squad players
