Bellerin without a doubt.
Chambers has failed to impress me once in his appearances at RB (despite a couple of assists).
Bellerin has never failed to impress me in his appearances at RB (despite the slip and substitution at Stoke).
Not even a competition. One guy was dominant in a defence which kept out Silva, Milner, Aguero, Navas, Dzecko and Jovetic. The other was dismal and was personally at fault for one goal in a defence which leaked two against Brighton and Hove.
Hmmmmm? Toughy...
I believe bot are the same defensively at right back with Chambers have the height advantage. There is room for improvement from Bells & he is doing it every game while Chambers I think is more suited as a C.B.
--------------
Agree Chambers is more suited to CB. Don't agree they are the same defensively at RB. Chambers has been a liability in every game he has played there. Good in the air? Did you see Brighton's first goal yesterday? Aerially has also been his weakest attribute when he has played centrally too.
Bellerin on the contrary has really impressed in the air. Much better than I was expecting. Seems to be quicker and stronger in the tackle, reads the game better from full back, and is calmer on the ball, less likely to get booked.
Not to mention his speed and superb delivery.
Not meaning to rip apart Chambers, but I just don't think he is a RB at all. He should be forth choice CB after Paulista is finalised, let him get some confidence back in the reserves.
Got to be Bellerin, especially at home when we would be doing the most attacking.
On a broader note I don't think Chambers is suited to full back, he gets caught out time and time again, he looked pretty solid at CB and should be 3rd/4th choice in this position. Bellerin had shown up well and his pace is a real asset.
Bellerin. Chambers is more CB than RB and only played on Sun to allow Bellerin to rest. Remains to be seen if Chambers can cope in a DM role but I can't see which game he'd be given that opportunity in...
Chambers getting rounded time and again on the flanks is a real bother for me. Opposition players never really need to beat him. They just cross around him and he rarely can get a block in.
He shows a Jones-like versatility in his play though, like he can fit in anywhere in defense. Here's hoping he comes good as our Mr. Utility after Flamini moves on.
I'm not convinced by Chambers at all yet. He's got the raw attributes of a world beater, given his age but he's no RB his replacement at Saints is better than him. Definitely a CB but the lad has a lot too learn. I can see a dominant pairing of him and Kos for at least one season but Chambers has a way to go.
Bellerin on the other hand, he just looks the real deal straight away. Typical Wenger wing back. Thought a lot to learn still also. Nowhere near as much as Chambers. He has a much greater awareness of his job and how to execute it. Bellerin doesn't need to be taught a.y theory, all he has left to learn, he needs gametime to learn it. So just a matter of not burning out the youngster. Chambers though, be it RB or CB still hasn't quite got the theory side down. Never quite seems to know what he's doing or where he should be.
Got to be Bellerin for Villa, he will terrorize them
