if it was Sherwood or redknapp chicken wouldn't care if we had struggled past league 2 sides all the way, he would be on here bigging it all up.

he is the least consistent poster on these boards.

Which is pretty ironic considering his username is " mr consistent"

People also forget the ref avoided sending off one of their players (Flynn...I think) to keep the match 11 v 11. The comeback should never have happened.

yes they may have scored a goal with 10 men but I'm not so sure.

It was blatantly obvious the ref was about to card him, his hand went to his pocket then when he realised the player already had a yellow it was withdrawn.

Pundits and fans sometimes forget all these little incidents that have key bearings on matches.

Had we lost and got knocked out..the press would not have mentioned it.

Don

Chicken and Grandspur cannot be taken seriously. The pair of them are only happy when Spurs lose. What sort of supporters are they, that are not happy even when Spurs reach Wembley. And Grandspur whinging because Spurs played Forest, Brighton, etc. What does he want them to do, go and re-do the draw so that Spurs get United, Liverpool and Arsenal away. What an idiot, it is a cup campaign and you get who you are drawn against. Very few clubs who reach finals play four or five hard games to reach Wembley. Chelsea have only had one prem side Liverpool I think on the way to Wembley, so you may as well say they have had an easy route as well.

Ace face, the thing with that is; the negative posters like to respond with 'yeah but they put out a weakened team'.... As if that's some sort of qualifier! Who forced them to field a weakened side?

We didn't put out a weakened team, and we won the match, therefore Poch deserves credit.

Ace, look back on this thread and you will see I mentioned exactly that about the smaller sides knocking out Chelsea and city as a way of providing proof that these lower league sides are now always easy. All chicken could come back at me was " it's a different cup" then calling me a pr ick in the process. i didn't take his insult to lightly

Not always easy I mean

posted on 29/1/15

Last weekend was proof enough that you should not take games lightly, regardless of how "big" a club you think you are. Thankfully the average transfer/wage costs per squad player is not the determinant for silverware (thank God for the Bradford / Boro / Sheff Utds of this world) .

some of the reactions to last night are hilarious

Did anyone ever hear the term 'Billy Blue Belt'? Its a term used in fighting for a lad who has a bit of experience looking at and criticising top class fighters. Thats exactly what Grandspurs is, in his head hes a football manager cos he managed some nobodies years back and then was dropped out of the game. Convinced he sees things differently to everybody else but really its pure bitterness at not having made it in the game.

Get out now, if you cant enjoy your team making it to a cup final theres nothing left in the sport for you

Chicken is consistent a consistend negative facking pain in the hole get to fack, we're going to Wembley FFS!!

I'm well happy with this, I couldnt give a fack if we had to play a team of under 10s to get there, we're one of 2 teams in all the leagues to get to the final, great achievement and credit to Poch

Don,

You are the missing the point (as per normal).

Everyone on this board is happy that we have reached the final, however, just because Bradford pulled off (what people are claiming was) the biggest shock in cup history, this doesn’t mean that it is now considered managerial genius to beat a League One team.

The true fact of the matter is, we have struggled to beat a 3rd tier team over 2 legs. There will always be times when lower league teams do beat Prem teams but this occurrence is rare for a reason. And as I said yesterday, I would be surprised if a League One club (or 3rd tier club) has won either the FA or League Cup over the last 50 years.

I don’t want to spoil your party (and you can insult me all you want) but this win will not send shivers down the spine of world football.

That is all….enjoy your day….

Poch is doing well. Some questionable selections and subs at times, but look at where we are; we're in a cup final, and not out of the running for top 4 or Europa.

Performance-wise we could do better. A lot of that would have to be put down to the quality of the squad though.

We scrape through against a League One club through the skin of our teeth and you want ve give credit? I've heard it all now!!

Did you even watch the game? We were second best for most of it and your love child Lamela is the worst player I've seen since Ali Dia.

Sorry Chicken.............................................Sheffield put out West Ham & Southampton, both of which are having their best seasons in the PL for years!

As for your comment about being second best for most of the game We dominated possession and at one point had 13 shots to their 1.................even their supporters admitted they were expecting a drubbing after Eriksen scored.

It is one thing to be pragmatic & objective when you come on here, however your comments in this post are well out of order & totally negative.

We do not select the opposition and the fact that we are once again in a major final should be a cause for celebration. Yes I know full well there are deficiencies in the team, and hopefully these will be eventually eradicated.

United got beaten by a League 1 side in this very competition & only managed a 0-0 against a team lying 12th in League 2, Chelsea lost to Bradford in the FA Cup, City lost to Middlebrough..............................All of these teams are above us in the PL, so why should it be any easier for Spurs?

Some strange comments on here. If you look at the draws Spurs have got en route to the final then what exactly is there to give credit for.

If Spurs had lost any of those ties then Poch would have taken loads of stick, so the only thing you could really credit him with is not being eliminated in very easy ties.

Why people keep going on about the FA Cup results, I don't know. Those results were massive shocks that both clubs have taken massive criticism for. Do you think that if Chelsea scored a late equaliser when they were 3-2 down that Mourinho and Chelsea would have got credit for it? So why should Spurs?

Last 2 years we've gone out to West Ham and Norwich. Didn't Arsenal go out to Bradford once?

It's not always as easy as it looks on paper.

Newcastle were bang in form when we smashed them 4-0. think they had beaten Chelsea a week or so earlier.

Yea and we both took criticism for those results. And Newcastle weren't bang in form, that win against Chelsea was their first in a while, and we spanked them a few days before they went to WHL.

It shows the nature of the cup if big teams can go out to smaller teams all the time. You can't criticise when the big teams go out to them and then not commend them when they do beat them and get as far as we've come.

to be fair i think we should be doing better than we are.

i watch the games intensely.with poch there are glaring and i do mean glaring problems in games that he does nothing to address.

for example we sit too deep out of possesion yet sit too high when in possesion making the play congested. when you have a player like fazio with bad positioning you dont allow the centre back partner to create too much space in between. we constantly do this and get punished.

or along the right wing we are having issues. instead of protecting the left back we leave it. low and behold where have the goals all come from when we concede?last three goals have stemmed for the right hand side (our left hand side) if i am west brom i get mcmanaman or berahino down that side with brunt running into the box and anichebe pulling the centre backs apart centrally easy as you like.

it is very easy to criticise of course but it is like he has no reaction or is too stubborn to.counter the opponent. groundhog day every game.

i am ecstatic we are through to the final but i keep thinking we should be better. come on you spurs!!!!!!!!.

If we end up winning the cup is anybody really going to care one bit about how we got to the final or even remember anything the morning after?
