This Chelsea team is no way as good as the Mourinho team of the mid 00's.
They have been played up relentlessly by the media.
In fact, this shows how poor the premier league is nowadays compared to the old Big4 era of 2004 - 2010.

Was reading an article earlier as to why Chelsea vs Man City isn't as big a game as it should be in comparison to United vs City/Arsenal/Liverpool has been over the last 10-15 years.

It's quite clear why... Because none of those teams would indulge in the dull anti-football that Moanrinho preaches

Are these the type of tactical decisions that see Mourinho win trophies or was it the cowards way out?

It's how you win the league.

Not every game has to be gung-ho from Chelsea. They knew they couldn't afford to drop any points, with a 120 minute game mid-week, it was expected.

Sensible decision from Jose. There really is no logical reason to argue against it.

Lets face it even Fergie has applied the same tactics in certain situations especially when so much is on the line.

silly article really

jose did the right thing

Chelsea are the masters of the PERCENTAGE FOOTBALL.
One chance one goal, then with the right tactics sit back and remain in formation. Chelsea over the years have been masters of this game.

"Either way I still think United could very well possibly catch up with City depending on the formation played in our up and coming games."

I agree, if we are open as we were today against half decent sides we will get picked apart.

he always "parks the bus" when his team are inferior and may end up losing.

Still think Chelsea will crack up.

Funny thing is we've still scored the most goals this season

They will probably go down as the most dull side to ever win the Premier League that's for sure

Percentage football at it's best. Even Avram Grant used those tactics getting Chelsea to the Champions League final. Play in formation, get a goal then sit back and play the game of chess.

That's what Chelsea have been doing for years in these big games.

Expected a draw before the match. Chelsea didn't want to have their lead eaten away again, City didn't want to fall any further behind.

I think the performance is something everyone expects from a Mourinho team. Set up not to lose in the big matches. If they can beat the teams they should definitely be beating, then its a case of accepting a point in the big matches, though trying to nick all 3 points if the other team opens up too much trying for the win themselves.

Chelsea went into a game against their nearest and only realistic challengers for the title and still have the same lead they had beforehand, you do the sums

🇬🇧 MARK.🇬🇧 (U1449)

You do the sums, but by god it is NEGATIVE in terms of tactics.

Shocking to the extent of a disgrace considering this was a HOME fixture at the Bridge.

PERCENTAGE FOOTBALL at it's best.

This pathetic myth about Mourinho making Chelsea play "anti-football" doesn't stack up when you see that Chelsea are the top scorers in the league.

There's a difference between "anti-football" and playing tactically to mitigate against losses of big players and having the burden of a tired team.

You don't win Premier League trophies without a measure of tactical flexibility. I wouldn't expect a Spurs fan to understand this, however... for obvious reasons.

About time I had one of these (U4234)

Truth be told my friend, Chelsea have played their cards smart to the extent of NEGATIVE in the real BIG GAMES.

And at home today, most managers in world football would have gone one to try and win the game. Chelsea have really played this PERCENTAGE game in the big head to head's for the best part of nearly a decade. Baring the Di Mateo and AVB stints.
