Speaking as an Arsenal fan, squad depth is something you should never question.
Injuries seem to be MUCH more prevalent these days so a determined young loanee might be just what you need later on if you're playing Europa, Carling, FA Cup football on top of league football and need to keep players rested!
The only good reason I can see for the loan is that he is u21 so doesn't have to named in the 25 man squad. If this is the case I can't see many players leaving (i.e. Kranjcar, maybe Bentley even).
I did look him up, looks alright nothing special!.. just another Gio me thinks
I dont understand it being a loan deal , usually when a player of that age goes out on loan it's to help his development for the benefit of the parent club , we have done this many times
Who knows Squid! but we have some fresh faces in after weeks of moaning!
I was hoping for a few better players, still some time to go
Morning Gents
I have to admit I cannot wait for the rsenal match can you imagine the hatred on their faces when Gallas and Ade both score in yet another famous victory for us
I think it's because he is 21 and doesn't have to be named in the 25 man squad, whereas Dos Santos is 22 and would have to be named now.
my understanding of the lad from juve is that we wanted to sign him,but juve didn't wanna sell.
but he can't get games for them,so all a bit confusing.....
Gallas and Adey score!!!!!!! I would be in heaven
Well as the Gunner said earlier we do have lots of footie to play and it'll be interesting to see if he plays in the Europa and the C.C ......tbh I'm not sure he'll get a sniff in the Prem
As stated above, he'll come in handy for Europa and the cups when the injuries and fixtures start to pile up.
I thought Gordon Strachan got it about right on the telly last night when he said Spurs are in a catch 22 with transfers. We have many good players but in order to improve on what we have means trying to source players on the next level, and we just can't meet their wage demands.
Underperforming strikers aside, I agree with him - we have got some very good players. If we can't get the very best then signing this lad & Adebayor ain't a bad bit of business in the short term imo.
