Yes, I wonder if the book is open in the next Forest manager yet? No disrespect to DF but he is on a hiding to nothing. Fawaz probably still expects a top two finish in the Champinship this season for Forest.
They say 'Never go back' because often the reality is far different to the perception, however I think Pearce was enough of a footballer for Forest that he would always be welcomed by all true fans of the club.
I can understand the frustration of your fans in how the season had progressed to date, but I also think that there was an unrealistic raising of expectation levels after an exceptional and unsustainable start. Some of the insults aimed toward a man who was, is, and shall always be Forest through and through are bang out of order though, and simply adding the caveat '...but I still respect him' at the end of a tirade of abuse is at best rank hypocrisy and at worst puerile.
I am not one to shy away from trading verbal blows with you guys but it's always been a competitive banter and is most effective when fuelled by the nerves of not knowing who'll finish ahead; that's been taken from us all by the recent shennanigans at City Ground and, like most Rams fans, I'm both saddened by your slump and grateful for our own modicum of success because the path you tread could so easily have been ours.
How much longer can it go on?
I don't know. Fawaz appears to have a very thick skin.
Yes, 666. I meant to mention that. Because we started so well, expectations were raised. If the results we got had been spread across the season, things might not have looked so dreary. And personally, I will always wonder how different things could have been for Stuart with Cohen, Reid, and Hobbs in the team.
Having said that, it was a dreadful run and the sacking makes some sense. But to throw any insults Pearce's way just shows a complete lack of respect and very short memories.

Pearce will always be a Forest legend. Old bighead himself got us relegated in his last season but we didn't stop respecting him because he took us down. He took us all round Europe, to Wembley and introduced us to stars like Shilton, Robertson and, of course, Pearce.
Fawaz is in charge of our club. Yes, a true fan, with lots of cash.
Last year a dwarf and his cousin tried to ruin our club. Thankfully, he didn't quite finish us off. If I was Fawaz I'd get some financial help, take advise from some businessmen and try to salvage his pride.
He was right to sack Pearce we could of easily found ourselves at the bottom of this league by the end of March. We now have Freedman in charge and I fully expect us to win more games out of our remaining matches than SP did in the last 24
Can't argue with most of what you say, Webb. What are your thoughts on the way Fawaz is running the club, though?
He doesn't need financial help, he needs a slap from his mother and told to stop playing the fool!
I'm not arguing against the decision to sack him, Webbo, only against the stuff some have submitted on here about him when it is perfectly clear, even to the most blinkered of fans, that there are numerous players who simply would not try for him.
The worst of it all is that those same fans who slated Pearce at every opportunity, including those who railed against him from the very start, will no doubt continue to idolise the mercenaries who took the money but wouldn't play under him whilst a true Forest man gets kicked to the kerb.
He needs people around him who advise him. He is doing one thing right. Staying quiet.
He now needs to get a spokesperson in, loads of UK based financial people to advise him (business and football related) and do wahat MrChelski does..... enjoy the game

It was mainly Len who was wanting Pearce out. I really wanted him to succeed but it was never going to be. He still is a true Forest great in my eyes and remains unbeaten in local Derbies as a manager
Psycho will always be a legend to me and his spell as manager hasn't diminished that one bit. I am however disappointed firstly that it didn't work out and secondly by the conduct to him by some of our fans. The notorious Hannah on Twitter even said that although he was her favourite player she's bored of the guy and lost any respect. WTF?
I was lucky enough to see most of his time at Forest first hand and I've not seen his like in Garibaldi red shirt since.
He had opportunity to do that with Faulkner and has ended up undermining his role directly plus with those who are close to him. Can you see that changing now we've come this far and who would want to risk the role?
"....remains unbeaten in local Derbies as a manager."
Don't bring your knife to a gunfight, Mr Midtable
See..?! Bants. I think we all miss bants. I blame Lansbury, Abdoun, Fawaz and Len, but mostly Ray.
What's with all the Fawaz hate? 3 wins in 21 forced his hand, no manager would survive that record at any other club, regardless of how loved he was by the fans.
We are 7 points above Millwall right now, remember when Cotterill was in charge? Yep, 7 points above the bottom 3. Something had to change, and sadly SP didn't seem to be able to do so. HOPEFULLY Freedman can get us a few more wins this season and keep us away from the bottom half, fingers, toes, legs, arms, eyes crossed.
You're not up to date with all the news then FAF?
You could review all of the 400 threads in the last 24 or so hours or even have a gander at this. It's not specifically that SP was sacked" but how that occurred and a number of other things.
Check out the Telegraph article....

I see 'Arry's just become available... Freedman OUT
Al - this isn't just about his sacking of Pearce, as the article says if you read it. I can understand the sacking even if I can make arguments as to why I wouldn't have done it. I genuinely believe that most managers would have struggled in a similar fashion, though. It is difficult to get a club up and running in a few months, particularly when you have to deal with the fallout of having so many managers in such a short time. Each one leaves more baggage. And Billy left more baggage than most.
And, at the heart of it all, only one man can shoulder the blame for our financial mess. That man is Fawaz. Billy and Price might have played a big part in creating this mess, but Fawaz stood by and let them.
Harry to sort out our FFP issues
Pearce was a QPR fan as a kid, so...
I had not read that article, very interesting. Thanks Ray.

I wouldn't call it hate, more utter bewilderment.
No one would survive three wins in twenty three games eh? Dougie would have been awarded an extension to his contract had he managed that with us (Bolton).
