1 - Dele has a good first touch
2 - you can improve on it with decent coaching way past 18.
This has come all from someone who's watched a couple of streams
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry for not thinking he's the best thing since sliced bread and forming an opinion, albeit based on a few match comps
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's be honest it's only the Man U game you've seen him right?
The kid has major potential ( like onomah ) & has already got a wealth of experience in a tough league ( unlike onomah ) and is spoke highly by better judges than us.
What needs to happen now is for Dele himself to keep improving year on year and we will have a good player on our hands.
Like I said yesterday to people don't be surprised if MK get promoted to championship that he goes back on loan to them next season.

You can apparently teach Gareth Bale to become a 30 goal a season player but not his first touch
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you think of a player who you remember having average technique at a young age who ended up drastically improving it?
If this lad came and sat down beside me right now and introduced himself, I'd still have to google him to check if it was him. Never heard of him.
I'll wait to see him play to see how good he is.

I've also seen some England youth games. I'm not saying that he'll turn out to be a bad player by any means. He's making a name for himself at 18 and is scoring goals. I just think technically and ability-wise he's not that good

gotta love spurs fans don't you.
everyone says how the best strategy is to get hold of young players and develop them, and then save the money we would use on squad players to supplement them with a couple of top class, more expensive players....
then we make signing which is all about potential, and now we are writing him off before he has even pulled on a spurs training jersey
love it
We will have to wait and see analog but I'm very happy with the signing
Anytime you fancy it buddy I'll have a ticket for you to come watch a MK game

Haha, bit far for me mate, I'll see how he does once he's here next season
Hey guys. Dont post much on this but always read it everyday. Living in Hertfordshire MK Dons were one of the only teams I could see since I was about 12 which didn't cost an arm or leg. I've seen a lot of their games. Karl has got them playing great football now.
On to Dele I first saw him come on when they won 4-2 against QPR at about 16. Trust me. This kid could be and has the potential to be class. Confident in the ball. Cracking scoring record. And a mature player. This is a quality signing. And whether he comes back next year or goes on loan again. Under Poch I don't think it will be long before we see him. Bentaleb, Mason, Alli and Carroll ( I know people are unsure on the latter but given some muscle around him Hes a bit of forward thinking I think Poch will use) , but these are four young guys that I think will get trained to play how the gaffer wants and I see a good future.
Trust. This kid is young and if he continues how he is going will be given a shot at the team. Be excited.

'the new Steven Gerrard' etc been all over the media
Analog............................................Don't be such a negative person.
The reference to Gerrard was in describing the type of midfielder he is: i.e. A box to box player with good goalscoring instincts.
He is young but has a confidence about him akin to what Kane is now showing. Having seen him play in two games recently I was very impressed & they love him at MK Dons. I had no idea at the time he was going to sign for us, but I told my friend (a season ticket holder at MK) that he would be snapped up by a PL club, and that I hope our scouts are watching him.
Paul Mitchell used to be at MK Dons before he went to Southampton & then joined us, knows Dele well & I suspect his fingerprints are all over this deal! Great buy for us and at a good price too.
I was shocked at the price as when Liverpool was interested in summer it was quoted at around £8m
Gerrard wasn't the most technical or graceful of footballers, even in his prime, truth be told. Or Lampard. Both had that drive to get forward from midfield and have a crack though, and this lad is doing it at 18 in the roughhouse of League 1, which is encouraging. Nearly a goal every 2 games from midfield at that age is pretty fantastic.
Heres to him being a Lampard/Gerrard and not a Jenas

that's just the Liverpool price
the City price would have been £10+mil
Everton would have paid £4mil
so 5 is about right for Spurs
Not being funny Analog but you have seen what 2/3 games? jesus mate how can you base such a negative opinion on a talent like that with just a few games watched. I'm not pretending i know of him because i have never seen him bar Youtube clips and hearing how fantastic he will become plus seeing his name always pop up on Gillette soccer saturday but if guys like Hengy who go and watch Mk Dons a lot and pundits think this guy is the real deal then who are we to suggest otherwise? 18 years of age and 12 goals, 4 assists already is superb and i don't care what division it is. Pritchard looks the absolute b olloks aswell from what i saw of him the other week so that's 2 outstanding talents probably in our squad for next season

I'm just giving my opinion ffs, I don't really care what pundits or fans think. He has some tools which could make him a good player, but like I said I don't rate his technical ability, I'm not gonna lie about thinking that just because we signed him
I think technical ability is overrated. Harry Kane is has hardly any technical ability , compared with lamela for example, but is still 10x as effective in games. Same with Chadli. We're not signing him now to shove right into the 1st team straight away, it's here to improve and develop as a footballer and look to the future as a 1st team regular. Why don't you give him a chance before hating on him, technical ability means sod all.
That all depends where he ends up.
If he's an orthodox central midfielder, lack of good technical ability could see him really struggle.
if his major strengths are scoring goals bursting from deeper positions, and be ends up at the head of a three man midfield, it won't be as big a problem.
From outside reading I thought this looked like a nice buy. Only 18, scoring goals regularly for a title challenging league 1 side and somebody who has represented England youth teams a few times.
However, upon watching a few match comps of the lad, I'm underwhelmed to say the least. Physically, he looks excellent; a big, strong lad with pace and an engine. And he must have an eye for goal. But when it comes to his ability on the ball, I really do think he's lacking. Clumsy touches, far too many passes not only sideways but backwards, even to the keeper, a lack of vision, poor balance too.
Personally, I've seen a lot more about Josh Onomah to be excited, who is not only good physically, but has great technique, keeping the ball well, a good dribbler, skilful and forward thinking.
Onomah is the one who I think has the bigger chance of becoming a success at Spurs, any attitude problems permitting.

The signing of Alli, as I said previously, has Paul Mitchell's fingerprints all over it. Mitchell was at MKDons prior to joining Southampton and us.
Lol I hold my hands up to this one. Very wrong indeed
However, he does still have passing/close control issues that I alluded to, possibly why Poch prefers him higher up the pitch, along with his goal threat
