The role that LJ played worked most of the time, so long as you had other players covering him i.e tackling, heading etc.
He had a good vision for a pass and kept the play moving.....Better that lump up from defence any day.
Even those of you who didn't like him it was an option that could be used......quite often effective.
I remember reading up on Kilkenny and thought why are we getting a like for like??
I know why, I thought to myself, It's because we have a manager that is clueless.
If Millen has personal problems with the likes of Cisse & LJ....just shows how poor he really is....
It seems clear to me, Keef likes what LJ does but he doest want him doing it. He obviously knows how some fans feel about him and, it seems to me, to gain favour he has dropped him, as you and other say, for a like for like replacement which is pretty pointless. Fans arent stupid, then can see when players are of a similar nature.
He clearly has an issue with Cisse but his love of Cole Skuse and Fontaine is equally as worrying. I have never rated Skuse and always said he can only person in a 3 man central midfield situation, out of that, he is weak and lacks direction.
Skuse would be good on the bench because he can cover several positions, but i agree, he shouldn't be in the starting eleven.
Being Bristolian shouldn't guarantee him a place, above better players.
I agree, he is actually a better right back than he is midfielder i reckon.
whilst he has never set the CC on fire poor old LJ does show sparks of effectiveness in keeping the game flowing, often it is the players around him not really backing up that degrades him.
Having a clone as a replacement does seem silly unless KM has the ability to "upgrade" the ability of it...it being Kilko of course.
This is the most intricatly involved web of intrique I have come back to, the 2011-12 CC...MY MIND BOGGLES at the prospects in store....can my heart stand another season??
