We should be looking to get three points here without a doubt. Wolves have had a good start but they're still a side we should be looking to beat comfortably. Their biggest threats will come from Doyle and O'Hara while Johnson looks to have been a good signing for them.
Still think a home game against Wolves should be a banker for three points. Even though we're weaker than last season we still have far more quality than they do. With it being a derby it will be close but we should get the three points.
I'd like to see a lineup like below (defence has been picking itself for the last two seasons due to lack of quality so I won't bother with that):
...................Makoun...................
Delph..........................Ireland
Agbonlahor..................N'Zogbia
...................Bent....................
Birmingham fan here, obviously living in Sutton a lot of my friends are Villa fans and they're confident Villa will pick up all 3 points, I think it's got 1-1 written all over it to be honest.
Mcleish's record in Derbies is poor so I think he'll play not to lose instead of playing to win. You've got a much stronger squad than Wolves but they'll be at you with all guns blazing and Mcleish will want to soak the pressure.
I'd expect your team to be like (Typical Mcleish);
Agbonlahor Petrov Delph N'Zogbia
Heskey(With him switching with N'Zogbia to the left)
Bent
I don't know why I'm commenting on this article but I've heard so much about this game I thought it'll be nice to have my input.
Think Petrov will definitely play. Doubt if Ireland will. I'd be tempted to go for
Petrov Delph
Agbonlahor N'Zogbia Albrighton
Bent
but think Heskey will start instead of Albrighton. Lined up for substitution will be Albrighton, Clark, Bannan, with maybe Delfouneso and Wieman as outside possibilities.
It'll be interesting to see how we cope with a quicker attack.
Great start to the season and I'm going for 1-1 with Wardinho getting a late equaliser.
Good luck for the rest of the season after today Villans.
What a poor game.
I was looking forward to it as well.
